Years spent searching in all the wrong places
But worth isn't found in expressions on faces
Or in tones of approval.... the truth surprised me
It's not about the number of people who like me
God told me "child, for the truth about worth
You should look straight to heaven, and not on earth.
He showed me I am worth more than the number of eyes
Solely upon me at any one time
I am worth more than numbers displayed on the scales
No more if I try and no less if I fail
I am worth more than my wages today
Or the number of people who turned up to see me play
I am worth more than the words that I say
And so much more than I ever could pay
Worth even more than my whole weight in gold
My worth is exactly the cost of my soul.
I am worth sorrow, rejection and pain
To Him, I'm worth suffering for, and all for my gain
I am worth humiliation and loss
To Him, i'm worth dying for, even on a cross
He is worth everything I have to give
Who else would die for me, die so that I might live?
He is worth singing, and shouting and praising
For he considered my soul worth saving
Now I stand in freedom, giving thanks for to Him
I am worth more than the weight of my sin.
