These are actually song lyrics, but I thought I'd see how they looked as a poem....
You might start with a thought or a prayer
you might wonder if anyone really is there
And one day you’ll reach out and you’ll ask for a sign,
if that inkling you feel inside is right
And you’ll know something’s up when your heart starts
to depart from your head and go its own way
And you’ll know something’s changed when your heart starts
to rejoice in the word that was said...
To him who knocks the door will be opened

To him who asks it will be given

And love at its purest
And faith at its surest
If you seek, you will find...
You might notice a shift or a change,
Finding strength in the most unexpected of names
You might cry, you might shout, but it’s all been worthwhile
Just to feel that internal smile

Interesting question! Do you mean for someone else to read/sing? I'm not sure how it would sound as a reading... what do you think? :)
