This
He sat by the well
So thirsty and dry
No pot to dip water
Then a woman came by
"Would you give me a drink?"
He asked, as she drew
From the pot of cold water
She'd brought up anew
She gazed at him darkly
"But you are a Jew!
I'm a Samaritan, not one of you"
"I am of God and if you only knew
You would have living water
Given to you.
A spring of water
Eternally welling
If you only believe
Would within you be dwelling
Worship the Father in spirit and truth
Believe in His Son
I will give you the proof."
Leaving her jar she ran to the town
To tell all the people of this man of renown
The came by the droves to hear the man speak
And fell down to worship at Jesus' feet
They'd met the messiah - the true Son of God
All praising the Father for Him whom they'd sought
So come to the well of the water of life
Jesus, God's Son, who gave up His life
Obedient to the Father
Even to death
That we who believe
Would have eternal rest.
John 4:23 "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship in spirit and in truth ... "
