Whats in your pantry?
By Ruth Laudon
October 18, 2008
In our pantry, many items there are
Including canned items, fresh fruits far
Too many jars to count
For winter well have a bount
To share with friends & relatives
As gifts for holidays & just because
Other items included in our pantry
Boxes of cereal, puddings, jellos, fancy
Desert mixes, brownies and cakes
Which we always have on hand to bake
For bake sales at church, friendship sake
Our pantry even includes spices like onion flakes!
Most people are aware churches everywhere
Have pantries included for people to fare
Who have no where else to go when hungry
When no one else cares if cheese has fungi
Pantries have all kinds of boxes not only inside
Freezers but all over the floors
Just like going to a fun happy store!
Did you ever stop to consider & realize
That pantries were part of the Lords scenery
In Genesis 2:9 we read about that God, our Lord
Had every kind of tree in His gardens galore
Not only trees with fresh fruits,
But a tree of knowledge and one of life to suit
Mankind but then one day Eve ate
From forbidden fruit, made God irate!
In Genesis 41:36 scriptures speak
Of food being put up for years when in state
Of famines would come, no harvest
Food stored would keep people from starving.
In Psalms 104: 14 scriptures reveal
God created grass to grow for cattle, a seal
So no one would every be hungry again
He provided oats, barley, wheat all grains
Spices created as well as herbs
For the service of man, to bring forth food
Then the parable of Jesus feeding multitudes
With a few fish & few bread loaves
Nary a one went hungry that day
As the Lords hope was to savior a way!
For people to hear His Son, Jesus Christ
Even when HE knew of His son as the sacrifice
If I can go but one step further:
Research has proved in Christians who are nurtured
By the Lord, Almighty, Creator, Counselor & Master
If we drink of Jesus blood and eat of His body, faster
Then ever we are fed by our faith and belief
In another angle, this could be called Relief
Relief as never again being thirsty or hungry
Like knowing the difference between mushroom & fungi
He the Lord, His son, together have many pantries!
The pantry I find most interesting
One I am so glad I was never guilty of resisting
Is the gift of relating to Him & His son
Through the Holy Spirit which makes three become one!
I praise God and thank Him each day on this earth
That He loved me enough to show me my worth
To let me become anointed to speak in tongues
A very special lingo forever is sung
When Christians focus their lives on Gods pantry
Of being fed daily through scriptures, prayers, enhancing
The special relationship God for each one of us
Not only with and through Him, but the Holy Spirit & Jesus.
When I started this poem about food pantries
I saw there were many ways God is never scantly
There are pantries in houses, cafes, and churches
There were trees of fresh fruit for mankind searches
Pantries from where no one ever could find
Where Jesus fed multitudes fish & bread, so sublime
There is the pantry of the Lord which feeds & quenches
Our bodies with being fed with scriptures no wrenches
Turning our bodies making us seek
Out the Lord, but He is willing to speak
With us on a daily basis with our own lingo to him
We are able to praise HIM in all kinds of hymns.
But most wonderfully is the pantry of life
That is provided to each of us who want to be His bride!
