When life seems to throw you a curve ball, what are you doing with it? I can tell you that for the past 6 months I had to ask that question. My faith was tried! My patience was tested. My heart was broken.
As a mother of 2 teenagers, I want what is best for them. When you have a difficult economy and the loss of a job, you have fear. Fear that grips every part of you. I went over 5 months without an income. I have not missed a meal. My kids did not have the "things" that I would like to give them, but they are happy. I have PEACE in the storm.
I keep going back to the fact that we are simply clay in the potter's hand. Christ is the potter, we are the clay. He takes the muddy mess that we have, he molds us - if we seek Him, and takes the lumpy edges and smooths them out in the palm of His hands.
As I have delved more deeply into the word in the Bible, I have found that I'm simply vessel that has been a miry clay... being put on the potter's wheel. The impurities were removed, the lumps were squashed and worked out, the colorless spots in my heart were painted over by His awesome love and power.
Friend, if your vessel is broken.... seek ONLY His face. Read the Word! Get your mind cleaned out! Toss off the junk or stuff that is holding you back from His blessing.
Just start over if necessary.... but, don't give up! We are being tried by the fire!!!! We are tested by circumstances. He is there! Reach out only to Jesus Christ. All else will fail you. Nothing else matters!
As I finish writing this, I pray for those reading it.... Holy father bless those who are hurting and may find comfort in this. Amen.
