Who wouldve thought something so small could grow to be so big. Who wouldve thought something so weak could grow to be so strong. Who wouldve thought something so tiny could grow to mean so much.

Love is like a seed. Actually its like a pair of seeds planted by two people. God provides the soil, the seed, and the sunlight. We however must water them. These two people can be romantically in love, or have friendship love. Both take watering. Both take time. Both take effort!

Two individuals plant love, just as a seed is planted in fertile ground. Each individual plants his or her own seed. For those planting a romantic seed, your seeds will be close together. But not too close so as to strangle the others seed before the bark forms. For those who are planting the seeds of friendship, plant the seeds farther away. Not to say that this love is not as deep as the romantic love. Its just different.

Dont lose perspective. Only God can provide the sunlight, only God gives us the seeds to begin with. God is the one who gave us the water to water the seeds with. Which is why love is a true gift from God. That is why God is the source of all Love. He created all things, including the greatest gift of all. LOVE!

When two individuals plant love, whether in friendship or romance, they begin the process of growth. With every trial they endure together, they grow a little more. Those that plant romantic love must be careful not to rush the process. God knows exactly what nutrients he put in the soil he gave you. He knows exactly how you will grow. Otherwise, if you rush the process, your roots may rob the others root of the nutrients in the soil. Whatever seeds you have planted in life, let it grow naturally. Do not rush it along. Let God grow you both at his pace.

And to those who have planted the romantic seeds of love. The time may come when your seeds of love have grown into baby trees. Marriage must be reserved for when the trunks touch. This is when the seeds, the love have grown to a point of strength. This is when your love will be both tested and matured. The trunks, the support beams, of your love are starting to merge into a stronger whole. Please remember though that things will be different. Your support beam is now theirs and theirs is now yours. Your branches will begin to form one tree. Things will change. When your seeds of love touch, it represents the beginning of the closest relationship a human can have with another human. Dont take this lightly, if they lose their supportive trunk, so do you. Storms will come and go. That is why God gave us the soil, so that we can have something to anchor our relationship in during storms. God not only provides the materials to build a relationship, he provides the anchor.

And to those who have planted the seeds of friendship. You will have trials, but remember that your friendship is anchored in Gods soil. Storms will come and some will be harsh. But what ever leaves or branches you lose in the storm. God will grow back as long as you dont stop using the water God gave you. Each branch you have represents a strengthening tie to the other. Each trial or storm bring new branches and strengthens old ones. Rejoice in this! Rejoice in the fact that God is strengthening you. Even as the old weak branches fall to the ground. God will grow new branches for you to embrace your friend with ever-strengthening love.

I also must mention that some seeds tragically die. Not because God doesnt want them to live. Not because the seeds are diseased, but because people dont water them. Watering seeds fits into Gods perfect plan. The watering of the seeds represents the time and effort that we must put into the relationship. God creates the right conditions. But God still gives us the choice to water them. Tragic isnt it, someone not wanting to take care of a gift from God?

Finally, always remember, God is Love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. (1 John 4:16b NIV) God sent his only Son to be a sacrifice for our sins. God loved us before time. So his seed of love has always existed. In closing I have only one question for you. Have your watered your trees today?
