Lord, What Can I Do for You Today?

Each Day I kneel earnestly and pray
Lord, make this be a "special day."
Watch me, bless me, keep me safe I say
Take care of all my needs, I pray.
And on and on I mention things
That happiness for me it brings.
I ask that there be no rain or snow.
Please let the sun shine so the flowers can grow.
But then I heard my friend say one day,
"Lord what can I do for you today?"
What a difference this made in my daily prayer
right away,
For now I know the proper way to pray.
I can earnestly say each day,
Lord, what can I do for you today?
A smile, a hug, a listening ear,
A prayer perhaps to wipe a tear.
A whole new outlook has taught me to say,
"Lord, What Can I Do for You Today?"

This is a beautiful reminder of the relationship with God we can seek and a prayer we can put into action each day. I hope your words "Lord, What Can I Do for You Today?" will remain on my mind throughout this day.
