Why do I feel alone in the dark?
Why do I have a broken heart?
Why has my life been a struggle from the start?
Why do I always end up in jail?
Why do I constantly fail?
Why does it matter if I try?
Why do I always feel like I want to cry?
Why do I hurt inside, day and night?
Why does the anger inside me make me want to fight?
Why is it so hard for me to step into the light?
Why is it so hard for me to see?
Why can’t I just be?
Why do I feel trapped, not free?
Why do I feel everyone has abandoned me?
Why do I do things to fit in?
Why do I fall into sin?
Why don’t I know a lot about my kin?
Why did I have to grow up in foster care?
Why were my parents never there?
Why does my life seem so unfair?
Why do I feel this pain and strife?
Why? Because, I’m human and this is what people call life.
