Consistency

i am 22 years old... i have been saved for almost nine years... this journey is so hard, i find myself so often on again and off again with God... i know that my life is so much better when i am in tune with God, everything flows well, and i feel so much joy, but i still find myself falling off the wagon... i feel so guilty sometimes and totally undeserving of God's love, and i want more than anything to not keep turning my back on God, but i keep struggling... can anyone help me with some tips on howto hold fast and remain consistent.. at this point i am open to anything because i am just tired of going up and down, back and forth, and round and round.

Sometimes as humans we take for granted the grace God has. It's a gift God has given but sometimes we need to grab truth for ourselves and see why there isn't any consistency in your walk. What things cause you to loose focus? And sometimes we have to see what are we basing our faith on? It's good to be joyful and exicted for God but sometimes when we pray or worship him we feel like we don't hear him back and it makes feel like it's for nothing so we lose faith and then we feel guilt for feeling like it's a waist of time. There can be so many reason why your faith is on this rollercoaster ride. Reading the word daily will always increase your faith and also God is a God that wants to meet your needs but he also wants you to snatch his children from the fire and lead them to Christ. Its not all about us but those who don't even faith. So maybe you might need to do something you've never done before. Pray before your day starts and ask God to use you even when you're in one of those days like you have very little faith and see how God moves and uses you for his Kingdom. Always speak life and resist the devil because when your not consistent and your complacent...and thats not good. okay so push forward. God Bless

Before you get out of bed in the morning, let your thoughts turn to the Lord.
Talk to Him all throughout the day. Listen for Him to speak to you too.
Read the Bible, even a little each day. Write down verses that speak to your heart. Meditate on them, memorize them, and then they are written in your heart, most importantly, remember to DO them!
Do you have Christian friends that you can talk with, or go to a Bible study?
This would be a great blessing too!
"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee."
Psalm 119:11
"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."
Matthew 4:4
"And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up."
Deuteronomy 6:7

Joia,
What was your conversion like?
Also, you might like to ask the Lord to show you where you are in this verse, and where He would like you to be!
----------------------------------------------------
"Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:

And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.

And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:

But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.

And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.

And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

The sower soweth the word.

And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;

And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred." Mark 4:3-20
