Having A Doubt?

Posted by an anonymous user on 5/15/2008 8:25:24 AM  - Print This  - Email This

Good day!
i just want to ask, maybe due to many problems and struggles i encountered and still encountering sometimes it comes to my mind, is God really have time to listen to my request? just like ordering your favorite food on a fast food chain, so very long lines that i was in the last lane and cannot accomodate me as soon as possible?
i know that He's will is not our will, and he cannot accomodate me now because it's not yet mine?
thanks for the respond. God bless =)

Hello - I read your question a few days ago, and have been praying you'd receive some helpful answers. Today, I thought I'd share my views, since doubting and struggling with prayer have been such powerful issues for me recently.

I believe God has the capacity to hear and answer all of your prayers at the instant you pray. God wants to hear from us more often than we come to Him. I'm sure God has more time for each one of us, than we have for Him. We are told in scripture, He knows our needs before we ask but, we are also instructed to ask for the desires of our heart. I think He doesn't usually choose to answer our prayers immediately for many reasons. You indicated you understand His will is greater than our will - there is much benefit in growing in awareness of this fact while we await answers to prayer. If we can come to accept that His will regarding a prayer is to say no or wait; we can understand this is better than getting what we thought we wanted.

We are also commanded to pray without ceasing - learning about has been the answer to a prayer that I had for two years. I had been begging God for something righteous, but had no indication He heard my cries - maybe my doubting intensified and prolonged the agony. However, none of that matters when I consider the sweetness of the answer I finally received. In one way, the answer to my prayer came suddenly at one moment but, I continue to receive more understanding of this answer as the months progress. I strongly believe that by praying for people in need (rather than focusing all my attention on myself) and even while praying for others, God has answered my prayers. Also, we are told that faith comes from hearing the Word. We often find the answers to our prayers when reading the Bible or listening to other biblically-based instruction.

I guess my short answer is God does hear all of our prayers but, the process of continuously praying and seeking His will is better for us than an immediate answer to most of our prayers. We are instructed to continue praying and hearing the Word. Even while we have doubts, if we actively strive to follow these instructions I am confident we will receive our answers plus more blessings than we can imagine.

I am happy to continue praying for you.

...i AM OF THE SAME MIND. I'VE BEEN ASKING AND HOPING THAT GOD WOULD GRANT ME MY REQUESTS,HE HASN'T IN THE WAY WHICH I EXPECTED BUT I AM BLESSED.DESPITE NOT GETTING WHAT I ASK I HAVE TO CONTINUE PRAYING,THANKING,PRAISING AND WORSHIPPING HIM.I STRUGGLE WITH THIS YET I DO THIS BECAUSE IT IS COMMANDED TO ME BY GOD AND I WANT TO BE AND DO RIGHT.ANY RESPONSES ON THIS I WOULD APPRECIATE.
