Father God,
Your Word (Jesus) said in Matthew 6:6, "But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
We thank You Lord for these words. We thank You that when we are afflicted, we can pray to You in secret and You will hear and answer us. And we know that You will do the work in us to change things. We accept that Your goal is to take us from glory to glory, making us more and more like Christ. We understand that the biggest part is our willingness to give up our will and accept Your Will as ours.
We know that this is a joint effort, as Jesus is our Savior, and He will help us. We see clearly that when we pray, You do the work in us so that we take our focus off the circumstance and put it on You. We forgive because You forgive. We love, because You love. We do good to others, because You do good to us. We praise You that You are the Great I AM. And because You are great, we can be great through Christ.
We know, as Jesus has told us many times in Your Word, we have only to have faith in You and "just believe." Our choice is to believe that all things work together for our good as we are called by You for Your purpose. When we are afflicted, we will rejoice in this knowledge. It's working for our good. We will not ask you to move the cup, but to increase our faith to believe. We will encourage ourselves by confessing Your word out loud so that we may "hear" it and increase our faith. We thank You for the privilege to bring all things to You in prayer. We honor You when we do this.Thank You Lord that You are always mindful of us. Help us to remember this and thereby be mindful of You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
