Better Bible References

Thanks to an excellent suggestion from user Debora, we now have a much better and simpler way to add scripture references to Delve Into Jesus. We've implemented a product called Ref Tagger which automatically detects passages of scriptures, displays the scripture in a little pop-up window when you hover over it, and displays the scripture in context when you click the link. It's all automatic - you don't have to anything!

For example, I'll just type my favorite passage here: 1 Peter 3:15. If you place your mouse cursor over the reference, you'll see the entire text of the passage. If you click on it, a new window will open with the passage in context. This will now work in all areas of the site, including prayers, comments, discussions and devotionals.

Most of our articles, reflections and devotionals on Delve Into Jesus were manually set to link to Bible Gateway, and these links are preventing Ref Tagger from doing it's job. Over time we will remove those links to allow Ref Tagger to work. (Sorry Bible Gateway, but this is a much simpler way to do it!). Here is a link to an example article where we've removed the links to Bible Gateway in order to get Ref Tagger working.

Finally, thanks the folks at Logos Bible Software for such a great product. They also have Bible study products for PCs and iPhone. Check them out here.
