Favorite T.V. Ministries

Hello, I'm new to this site and I was just wondering what ministries do you all watch on t.v.?
4/7/2008 5:15:38 PM by Trulyblessed, Member of Delve into Jesus since 4/7/2008

Truelyblessed,

I don't really watch them so much as I listen to different ones everyday. I have favorites that I never miss. Bill Winston, Joel Olstein, Andrew Womack, Kenneth Copeland, Joyce Meyer, Sheryl Brady, TD Jakes and Fred Price. I find that these are the ones who answer my questions. Sometimes they preach on something that I later experience. Which is why I believe that God can answer prayer ahead of time.

Welcome to the site, TrulyBlessed. It's great to have you here!

I wish I had more time to enjoy T.V. Ministry. The closest I have been able to come is Pod Casts, which I listen to in the car. I listen to James McDonald's "Walk in The Word" and Dobson's "Focus on the Family". From time to time, I also listen to McManus' "Mosaic".

Which ones do you enjoy? We're impoverished for good Christian TV here in Canada, but perhaps I can find some on the net.

And Gregory Dickow. I took his 40 day fast from wrong thinking and have been truely blessed. Ha! your name.
4/8/2008 9:48:43 AM by mrspiggy, Member of Delve into Jesus since 1/18/2008

Hi TrulyBlessed, my favorites include Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen, and NO LIMITS with Dr.Zacahry Tims. It helps sometimes to watch different ministries, and depending on your own personal way of learning, you will discover your own favorites.
4/9/2008 12:47:54 PM by Joia, Member of Delve into Jesus since 3/26/2008

Hi TrulyBlessed. I agree with the others. My favorites are Joyce Meyer, Beth Moore, Joel Osteen, Cheryl Brady (when the station comes in) and Zacahry Tims. I also like to watch TBN on certain occasions. They have a variety of Christian Artist and Pastors on there. I have my own church that I attend on a regular basis so I don't get a chance to watch these on a regular basis because I'm active there but when I get the chance I do look at these ministries.

Greetings from South Africa! I couldn't find a place to introduce myself, so I hope it is okay that I jumped in here to say hello to all of you! I really need to progress and draw closer to the Lord! So pleased to have found this forum! I have learnt lots already!

Kind regards, Esther

Hi Esther,

Welcome! Africa is a beautiful place. I was in Nigeria for ministry about five years ago. It is so beautiful there. I hope to return again.
5/29/2008 5:12:06 PM by zoey, Member of Delve into Jesus since 4/11/2008

Hi Ester - I'm glad you did jump in. I hope you will find as much help here as I have found; it is wonderful to share the abundance of God. I am sure we can all learn much from you too. We all want to grow closer to the Lord, so it's nice to meet a new friend with a common goal.
5/29/2008 5:32:40 PM by Ryan, Member of Delve into Jesus since 12/30/2007

Hi Ester,

Welcome aboard. This is a wonderful website. You will meet some of the most precious people God has called into the kingdom right here.

I've never been to Africa, but I have a dear friend there named Alex Opahra. Do you know him? I haven't seen him in years, hope he's doing well. I know this may sound strange to some, but I've never met anyone from South Africa that didn't know Alex.

Anyway, look around. There is much here to enjoy.
5/29/2008 6:17:54 PM by mrspiggy, Member of Delve into Jesus since 1/18/2008

Thank you everyone for the welcome! You have no idea how refreshing it is for me to be amongst fellow Christians. I have been posting on the Atheistic Forum, and am a little battle weary at the moment.

I must say that the forum I am on has tolerated me rather well, and the people have been generally very friendly and civil. This is what I think I am dealing with:

2 Corinthians 4:3-4

3But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

I have grown so fond of the atheists on this forum, and really pray they ALL come to the knowledge of who Christ is!

Kind regards, Esther

5/29/2008 6:40:41 PM by Esther, Member of Delve into Jesus since 5/29/2008

What are they like? I have never met an atheist.
5/29/2008 6:54:41 PM by mrspiggy, Member of Delve into Jesus since 1/18/2008

Your putting us on. Surely you've met people who've claimed not to believe in God? (No one in the depths of their heart believes it)
5/29/2008 7:00:27 PM by arsindelve, Executive Director, Delve Christian Ministries

I enjoy watching how these discussion evolve over time....from TV ministries to the nature of atheism...it's like a collective stream of consciousness.
5/29/2008 7:09:16 PM by arsindelve, Executive Director, Delve Christian Ministries

I'm surprised also. I've met many people who don't believe in God. For the most part the ones I meet are good people, they just don't believe in what they say "a higher power". That's reallly surprising to me :)
5/29/2008 7:35:28 PM by zoey, Member of Delve into Jesus since 4/11/2008

I kid you not. I have been many places and have never met a person who is an atheist. Maybe I don't know what an atheist is. A fool says in his heart there is no God. Sinners are people who don't believe IN God. They believe there is a God, they just have no relationship with Him. Therefore they can't believe in Him. That would make them believers, not sinners. So, what is the true definition of an atheist? Is an atheist the same as a fool?
5/29/2008 8:06:43 PM by mrspiggy, Member of Delve into Jesus since 1/18/2008

An atheist is someone who is mad at God and thinks they can get back at him by pretending to believe he does not exist.
5/29/2008 8:12:25 PM by arsindelve, Executive Director, Delve Christian Ministries

Oh, so atheists are idiots. In that case I've met plenty of them. One cut me off in traffic yesterday. Only an idiot would be mad at Someone they profess does not exist. Why waste the emotion? I've been an idiot. There was a time I was mad at my husband and pretended he didn't exist. It didn't go over very well.
5/29/2008 8:32:35 PM by mrspiggy, Member of Delve into Jesus since 1/18/2008

Hey Esther - I can understand you may need a break from the atheist site. But when you are feeling refreshed I hope you'll return there; since you've been well received, perhaps you have unfinished witnessing to be done there. It is encouraging they have been kind to you and that you are so concerned about their souls.

Zoey - I agree with your point about people claiming to be atheists having many positive qualities. One of my closest friends thinks he is an atheist (for now). He is one of the most compassionate people I know. He was even honored with a type of "most compassionate" award by his fellow doctors (many of whom are Christians). I could brag about him all evening but, I know he wouldnt appreciate that since he is also very humble. We always hear clichés about what God could do with one of those "good atheists"; after all, look what He has done with some of us.

Mrs. Piggy - I am sure people are stunned by the faith with which you've been blessed and don't feel they are atheistic while in your presence. I hope God sends many atheists your way.

Arsin - have you heard the joke about the scientists who wanted to retire God? It isn't too funny but I'll attempt it here anyway:

A group of scientists decided that mankind had come a long way and no longer needed God. So they picked one scientist to tell Him that they were done with Him. The scientist walked up to God and said, "God, we've decided that we no longer need you. We can clone people and do many miraculous things, so why don't you just retire?"

God listened patiently to the man and then said, "Very well, but first, how about this: Let's have a man-making contest."

To which the scientist replied, "Okay, great!"

But God added, "Now, we're going to do this just like I did back in the old days with Adam."

The scientist said, "Sure, no problem" and bent down and grabbed a handful of dirt.

God looked at him and said, "No, no, no, you go get your own dirt!"

That was a lot of editing to do - I think my typos were more funny than the joke.

Good night!
5/29/2008 9:22:02 PM by Ryan, Member of Delve into Jesus since 12/30/2007

Good night Ryan.

Perhaps I didn't word my previous posts in the correct manner. I have never met a person who claimed to be an atheist. I'd love to meet one. I'd like to know what they do when trials arise? Who do they turn to when they feel like their world is falling apart? Baby sick? No money and rent's due. How do they cope? How do they breathe? I can't imagine life without God.
5/29/2008 9:44:54 PM by mrspiggy, Member of Delve into Jesus since 1/18/2008

Amen! If I truly believed there was no God, the loneliness, lack of purpose and meaning would be so overwhelming I would not be able to go on for one single moment. Life as an atheist is incomprehensible.
5/29/2008 9:51:37 PM by arsindelve, Executive Director, Delve Christian Ministries

Hi Esther,
Nice to meet you.
Our good friend who also was our Pastor, was previously
an Atheist! (Look what God can do!!!)
5/29/2008 10:10:13 PM by Ignited~Faith, Member of Delve into Jesus since 2/20/2008

Please don't take this the wrong way but, i actually admire atheists and those who believe in evolution. If you truly think about it, it takes more faith to say that we were an accident than to say something made us like themsleves. If we were an accident and there is no God, which i thoroughly dissagree with, then the world will eventually be destroyed by humans themselves because of our own destructive nature. Either that or the sun will supernova and Earth will be incinerated. That's what a few atheists i've met have said when i tried explaining the rapture and tribulation to them.
Hopefully, when the rapture does happen, if they're left, they'll realize i was right and finally turn to God for guidance in what is sure to be the most horrific 7 years the earth will ever see.
5/29/2008 10:16:08 PM by Spex70, Member of Delve into Jesus since 5/27/2008

Ryan,

Please do not take the word "idiot" too harshly. It is the word I use for one who lacks knowledge of a certain thing unneccessarily. The lack of knowledge is referred to as ignorance. I am ignorant in many subjects, atheisim being one. There is no harm in being an idiot. The harm is in choosing to remain one when the truth has been made available to you.

As to your question, I think the weeping and gnashing of teeth is the reaction of those who were presented the truth of God's word and rejected it. Thus ending up in hell with satan.
5/30/2008 8:50:13 AM by mrspiggy, Member of Delve into Jesus since 1/18/2008

Hi Mrs. Piggy - Personally, I'm not offended by the word idiot. I make some money from people who refer to me as a pretty face - idiot; I agree with them all the way to the bank. Unfortunately, there may be a few people who would be insulted by the word being applied to them or their plight in life. However, I think there are far more people who would view the use of idiot and think something like "there's some more eloquent Christian hypocrisy showcasing the compassion of their leader."

On the topic of weeping and gnashing of teeth - I've read some interesting articles on this site. One furthers the CS Lewis idea of hell being a prison locked from the inside and filled with people who chose their fate. I mostly agree with Lewis (at least at this one juncture) - so why would those who are choosing rebellion against God weep and gnash their teeth?
5/30/2008 9:24:11 AM by Ryan, Member of Delve into Jesus since 12/30/2007

Ryan,

I have learned to care more about what God thinks of me than people. It's been a very freeing lifestyle thus far and "eloquent Christian hypocrisy showcasing the compassion of their leader" does not bother me in the least. I got the revelatiion of God's Word and am not easily offended.

The reason those who chose to reject God will be weeping and gnashing their teet is because their anatomical make-up will not allow them to kick themselves. Too late, they realize they made the wrong choice.
5/30/2008 3:50:05 PM by mrspiggy, Member of Delve into Jesus since 1/18/2008

Hi Mrs. Piggy - I didn't really understand your reply regarding not being concerned about what others thought. My statement was poorly worded, so perhaps you did not connect with what I was trying to express. I agree with you about God's opinion being what really matters, and that was my point too.

Rather than rephrasing my words, I'd like to recommend reading Advocacy Apologetics: Finding Common Ground. I would be curious to hear your opinion of this Reflection. I hope you enjoy the read as much as I did.

Regarding the weeping and gnashing of teeth; I realize it has traditionally been taught that this will be the response of the condemned. So, what do you think the response of the Saints is/will be?
5/31/2008 3:57:44 PM by Ryan, Member of Delve into Jesus since 12/30/2007

(I hope you don't mind if I share a verse. Concerning Saints;)

Revelation 21:4
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5/31/2008 4:09:44 PM by Ignited~Faith, Member of Delve into Jesus since 2/20/2008

Ignited-Faith,

You have a knack for sharing verses which are timely and meaningful to the receiver. I have been clinging to this verse for a couple months now, after a death in my family. This is another beautiful promise which I cannot contemplate often enough. Another reason to praise God!
5/31/2008 4:29:25 PM by Ryan, Member of Delve into Jesus since 12/30/2007

Ignited Faith:
Amen! I rejoice whenever i hear that verse because it fills me with joy to know that every negetive emotion will be wiped away in Heaven! It gives me everything to look forward to!
5/31/2008 4:34:41 PM by Spex70, Member of Delve into Jesus since 5/27/2008

I believe praising God is more important than discussing these situations.

But, just to continue my earlier thought, this beautiful event depicted in Revelations 21 comes immediately after the final judgment day. I realize this is just speculation, but perhaps the compassion of the Saints causes them to weep over those who chose condemnation rather than being in the Kingdom. Then the time of mourning is over; in His mercy God wipes our eyes and puts an end to all suffering, and we live with Him eternally!

5/31/2008 4:44:19 PM by Ryan, Member of Delve into Jesus since 12/30/2007

Ryan,
I'm sorry to hear about your family member...
I know what you mean about "clinging to a verse."
Not long ago I was crying about a living family member.
I didn't think the tears would ever stop. (I think Satan suggested that they never would...) Then all of a sudden Revelation 21:4 fell on me.
No I would not cry forever! One day God will wipe them All away!
I try to contemplate it too, and like you Ryan, I can't!
It is thrilling what awaits us one day, isn't it!
Yes, Praise God!!!
5/31/2008 4:51:29 PM by Ignited~Faith, Member of Delve into Jesus since 2/20/2008

Spex70,
I share your excitement!!!
Many verses overlap this truth.
The past few days I have had a horrible and painful headache.
This verse helped me get my mind off of the pain...
And remember that the pain was only temporary!
"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.
For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
2 Corinthians 4:18
5/31/2008 4:57:13 PM by Ignited~Faith, Member of Delve into Jesus since 2/20/2008

Ryan,

You may have two points there. I know I would be terribly hurt and full of tears if all my clan didn't make it in. And, yes, praising God does trump discussions unless, the conversation is leading others to praising God also. I gotta look up a scripture to add to this. Be right back.
5/31/2008 10:02:40 PM by mrspiggy, Member of Delve into Jesus since 1/18/2008

Okay, Romans 12:15 "Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
5/31/2008 10:09:27 PM by mrspiggy, Member of Delve into Jesus since 1/18/2008

Another wonderful scripture; thanks Mrs. Piggy!
5/31/2008 10:18:50 PM by Ryan, Member of Delve into Jesus since 12/30/2007

Ryan,

I read the Reflection. Yes, it is important to find common ground with others. It made me think of the scripture about living in peace with others.
6/1/2008 9:46:06 AM by mrspiggy, Member of Delve into Jesus since 1/18/2008

Mrs. Piggy,

I am delighted you enjoyed that Reflection, and that it made you think of living in peace with others. I am so moved by the peace God has given me to day; I know it came from God, because peace certainly is not my original nature. With an overflowing heart, I wish for you the same peace I'm feeling now but, then I know, due to your status in God, you already have access to that same peace. Today, I think I should celebrate the peace God has blessed us with, by praying for the atheists I know, who also need His peace.
6/1/2008 3:59:03 PM by Ryan, Member of Delve into Jesus since 12/30/2007

Ryan,

As you pray for the atheists you know, you will be planting a seed. Expect a harvest. Gal. 6:7 says God cannot be mocked. If you sow, you shall reap. As you are praying for them (atheists) to believe in God, you will become bolder in your faith. Doubt will drop off you like leaves in fall. Your faith will increase exponentially!!
