My purpose is not to build a grand edifice or win a Nobel prize. It will not bring me fame and fortune, but I love my purpose.
My purpose is simple, it is:
To do what I'm doing. Sowing seed. I sow the seed of God's Word everyday. That is my purpose.
When people request prayer and I sow the seed. I know that my prayers are God's will because each prayer is based on His Word (the seed). Therefore, I know that the prayers are answered.(1 John 5:14-15)
2 Corinthians 1:20 says, " For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through Him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God."
I love this scripture.
Also, Matthew 10:8 says, "Freely you have received, freely give".
I sow the seed (Word) that has been freely given me through Christ Jesus.
I have been blesed with the spiritual gift of faith. My middle name (on my birth certificate) is Faith.

No,I thank you and all who visit this site. For it is you all that have led me to my purpose.
The seed is the word of God. (Luke 8:11)
Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. (2 Cor. 9:10) Praise God!!
Your prayer is answered. Per the word above, He will increase my store of seed. There will always be seed to sow. Because the result is thanksgiving to God.
May God continue to hold you close to His heart.

Mrs Piggy - I can't say enough good things about the wonderful work you're doing in praying for and encouraging people. As the administrator of this site, I see more than others, perhaps, how much time and effort you put into responding to prayer requests. We know that prayer is powerful, and so I know that you are making a real difference in people's lives and advancing God's Kingdom on earth. It's a noble, holy purpose and I thank you for it. God bless you.

Mrs. Piggy - I'm happy for you to know your purpose! I was sure your purpose would be defined more in terms of reflecting God's love. However, I do see you are sowing seeds of love when you respond to so many prayer requests and in keeping the discussions lively. I am glad you are here to do this work and inspired by your purpose, even though I don't fully comprehend the entire faith bit in your responses yet. My middle name is not Faith - but I am slowly adding it to my résumé.

ALSO MRS PIGGY, YES THIS IS LORIL AGAIN, IM NOT SURE WHAT YOUR SAYING, YOU HAVE CONFUSED ME, YOU SAY IN YOUR LAST STATEMENT TO ME ABOUT PRAYER AND EVIL AND PRAYING FOR GOD'S PROTECTION, WILL NOT HAPPEN AS LONG AS PEOPLE ARE EVIL IF WERE NOT ALL DEALING WITH THE SAME GOD THEN WERE ALLOWING SUCH EVIL THIS IS WHAT U SAID. NOT VERY ENCOURAGING TO ME.., NOW I'M HEARING YOU SAY, YOUR PRAYERS ARE ANSWERED BECAUSE YOUR PRAYERS ARE GOD'S WILL FIRST OF AL,L NOBODY,, NOBODY KNOW GODS WILL! SECONDLY YOUR CONTRIDICTING YOURSELF FIRST IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR SAYING TO ME UNLESS WHERE ALL ON THE SAME PAGE WITH GOD SORTA SPEAK THEN PRAYERS ARE NOTANSWERED BUT IF WE PRAY THROUGH U THEY WILL BE ANSWERED BECAUSE YOU KNOW HIS WILL AND BECAUSE YOU HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH FAITH. THAT'S MY THIRD WE HAVE ALL ALL BEEN BLESSED WITH A MEASURE OF FAITH WEATHER THAT IS OUR MIDDLE NAME FIRST NAME OR NOT OUR NAME THE MORE PRAYER THE MORE POWERFUL I AGREE, BUT THAT IS ALL I AGREE, ALOT OF GOOD THINGS ARE BEING SAID ABOUT YOUR COMMENTS, AND I THING ANYONE THAT PRAYS FOR SOME ONE IS A GOOD THING, IF THE PRAY IS IN IN GOOD FAITH, ONE PERSON NO MORE SPECIAL THEN THE OTHER, DON'T GET ME WRONG IT'S GREAT THAT U PRAY FOR PEOPLE, BUT DON'T MAKE IT SEEM UR PRAY IS GREATER THEN ANYONE ELSE BECAUSE YOU ARE BLESSED WITH A SPECIAL SPIRITUAL GIFT, NEXT YOU'LL HAVE SPECIAL POWERS.

Loril,
I'm sorry you don't agree with what I wrote. Maybe, I went about it all wrong. I believe the Bible is the word of God. Here's what I read:
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to HIS WILL, he hears us. And if we know he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him.
That's from 1st John 5:14-15
In Him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. And he made known to us the mystery of HIS WILL according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ to be put into affect when the times will have reached their fulfillment -TO BRING ALL THINGS IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH TOGETHER UNDER ONE HEAD, EVEN CHRIST.
That's from Ephesians 1:7-10. Paul wrote this, not me. I just read it and believed it.
I don't intend to confuse you. Each discussion has a topic. My approach is always the same. What does the Bible say about this topic/issue. Same with prayers. The answer is in the book. The Christian life is an open book test.
I set before you this day, life and death. Choose life. (Deut. 30:19)
(Sometimes I think the test is rigged)
I didn't write the Bible. I'm just an apt pupil. God's word said it and I believe it.
I'm sorry if you don't feel encouraged. But please know, the Truth does not change, whether you are aware of it or not. There are MANY spiritual principles in the Bible. We are not exempt because we don't know them. They still apply. That's why 2nd Timothy 2:15 says, "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth."
Finally, yes, I am blessed with a special spiritual gift. ALL Christians are blessed with special spiritual gifts. (1st Corinthians 12)

And it's not about me, nor anyone else on this site. It's ALL about God and HIS purpose. We all have the same purpose in Christ, to build up the body (encourage each other) and increase the kingdom (win souls to Christ).
If I have written anything that was not encouraging, I humbly apologize.

MRSPIGGY IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE YOU CONFUSED ANYONE ELSE. ME ,THAT'S ABOUT IT ,and being confused or not encouraged does not mean anything about trying to change the truth. But I think having questions about something that makes you feel confused, as I do in the matter of prayers being answered, which for some reason I can't get a simple straight answer, the ANSWER IS SO OVERLY WRITTEN THE MAIN QUESTION NEVER GETS ANSWERED IT JUST GETS SHUFFLED AROUND.BUT THATS OK ILL JUST KEEP ON READING AND FIND MY OWN ANSWERS OR AT LEAST UNDERSTANDING AND JOY AS WE SHOULD WHEN WE READ THE BIBLE. THANKS ANYWAY LORIL UR SISTER IN CHRIST I'M SURE OF THAT

MRSPIGGY SPECIAL GROCERY LIST Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store.
She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries.
She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food.
John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store at once.
Visualizing the family needs, she said: "Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as soon as I can.."
John told her he could not give her credit, since she did not have a charge account at his store.
Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the conversation between the two.. The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family. The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, " Do you have a grocery list?"
Louise replied, "Yes sir." "O..K" he said, "put your grocery list on the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries."
Louise, hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed.
The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scales went down and stayed down.
The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, "I can't believe it."
The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the other side of the scales. The scale did not balance so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more.
The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement.
It was not a grocery list, it was a prayer, which said:
"Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands."
The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence.
Louise thanked him and left the store. The other customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said;
"It was worth every penny of it. Only God Knows how much a prayer weighs."
THE POWER OF PRAYER: When you receive this, say a prayer. That's all you have to do..
Just stop right now, and say a prayer of thanks for your own good fortune. Then please send this to all your frie nds and relatives.
I believe if you will send this testimony out with prayer in faith, you will receive what you need God to do in your and your families' life .
So dear heart, trust God to heal the sick, provide food for the hungry, clothes and shelter for those that don't have as we do. Amen & Amen
May you always walk with Angels God Bless! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I AM CLAIMING THIS FOR YOU
(1) You will find favor with someone you don't expect;
(2) You will be too relevant to be ignored;
(3) You will encounter God and you will never remain the same, Amen.
My prayer for you today:
The eyes beholding this message shall not b ehold evil, the hands that will send this message to others shall not labor in vain, the mouth saying Amen to this prayer shall laugh forever. Remain in God's love as you send this prayer to everybody on your lis t. Have a lovely journey of life! Trust in the Lord with all your heart and He will never fail you because He is Awesome! If you truly need a blessing, continue reading this email:
Heavenly Father, most Gracious and Loving God, I pray to you that you abundantly bless my family and me. I know that you recognize, that a family is more than just a mother, father, sister, brother, husband and wife, but all who believe and trust in you. Father, I send up a prayer request for blessings for not only the person who sent this to me, but for me and all that I have forwarded this message on to.. And that the power of joined prayer by those who believe and trust in you is more powerful than anything. I thank you in advance for your blessings.
Father God, deliver the person reading this right now from debt and debt burdens. Release your Godly wisdom that I may be a good steward over all that You have given me Father, for I know how wonderful and mighty you are and how if we just obey you and walk in your word and have the faith of a mustard seed that you will pour out blessings. I thank you now Lord for the recent blessings I have received and for the blessings yet to come because I know you are not done with me yet. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen

Loril,
That was beautiful. Thank you. As to your prior writing, if you ask me a direct question, I will give you a direct answer. 1st Corinthians 14:33 states; God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.
I wish above all things to be at peace with all of my sisters and brothers in Christ. I am not above correction. If I am wrong, please point it out to me as I want to know the most excellent way.
Again, thank you.

I'M SURE YOU MEANT TO GIVE ME A DIRECT ANSWER. IF THERE IS ONE. NOT TO OPEN A NEW BAG OF WORMS, WOW MY SON JUST CAME HOME WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND AND GAVE ME A STUFFED BUNNY HOLDING THE HOLY BIBLE WELL A LITTLE CLOTH BIBLE AND IT SINGS ARE GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD , TO CUTE. ANY WAY I THINK IS WAS LAST YEAR WE WERE AT MY PARENTS, MY BROTHER CAN RESITE THE BIBLE WITH HIS EYES CLOSED (SORTA SPEAK:) SO A QUESTION CAME TO ME AS WE WERE TALKING AND I ASKED HIM IF PEOPLE SAY HEAVEN IS PARADISE AND THERE IS NO PAIN OR SUFFERING WHY IS IT NOBODY WANTS TO DIE? AND HE QUOTED ME SO MUCH SCRIPTURE, BUT NEVER ANSWERED THAT QUESTION. MY DAUGHTER THE ONE WHO HAS ONLY REALLY BEEN GOING TO CHURCH AS A CHRISTAN FOR AWHILE, SHE HAD BEEN RAISED CATHOLIC AND I WON'T GO THERE. SHE JUST CAME OUT AND SAID BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO LEAVE THERE LOVED ONES, AND YA KNOW THAT WORKED, I MEAN IT MADE SENSE. SOMETIMES THE QUESTIONS WE ASK ARE HARD BUT SIMPLE. : )

I am not sure about this one Mrs. Piggy. I understand that pagans have used the rabbit as a symbol of fertility, and we are not to worship God as pagans worship gods. However, I'm in favor of exonerating the bunny, due to my own reprieve from the status of pagan. No one here is intending to worship the bunny or fertility. As you pointed out in a discussion related to evolution, animals just do and be as God intended. Perhaps God took special delight in creating the bunny since children find them to be irresistibly cute - without any forethought of fertility or false gods. If we look at the bunny's purpose, as proposed by our Creator, we may benefit form some edifying lessons. One lesson that comes to mind is bunnies appear to me to be humble and peaceful creatures.
I do see your point, and know enough to know I may be wrong.
Best wishes for a peaceful day for you Mrs. Piggy.

MRS PIGGY IF A STUFFED BUNNY HOLDING A BIBLE BOTHERED YOU ENOUGH TO TAKE BACK YOUR COMMENTS, :( A CHILD BRINGS HOME A STUFFED BUNNY SINGING AWESOME GOD. AND FOR YOU TO REACT THAT WAY IS TO ME NOT CHRISTIAN BUT IM NOT GOING TO JUDGE LIKE THAT, I THOUGHT IT WAS CUTE BECAUSE I KNOW MY THAT WAS NOT MY SON'S MEANING FOR THE BUNNY AND YOU KNOW WHAT SO DOESN'T GOD AND I'M GOING TO SAY SOMETHING AS YOU KNOW I LOVE KIDS I TEACH SUNDAY SCHOOL THAT IS MY JOY, AND I LIKE THE KIDS OF COURSE TO LEARN OF JESUS, BUT HOW EVER I ALSO SHARE EASTER, ITS JESUS FIRST OF AND MOST. BUT ALSO THE JOY AROUND EASTER, NEW LIFE, SPRING ,EGG HUNTS, AND YES EASTER BUNNY,S AND YOU KNOW WHAT I ALSO CELEABRATE CHRISTMAS. MAINLY THE REAL REASON OF CHRISTMAS, WASN'T TO CRAZY ABOUT SANTA CLAUS BECAUSE HOW DO I EXPLAIN THAT IT'S A LIE AND AS I WAS SAYING I DON'T LIKE TO LIE SO IM LOWER KEYED ON THAT BUT I DON'T HAVE A PROMBLEM WITH LITTLE KIDS BELIEVING IN SANTA AS FOR MY KIDS THEY BELIEVED IN SANTA WHEN THEY WERE TODDLERS BUT WHEN THEY GOT OLD ENOUGH TO ASK ME I WOULD TRY TO EXPLAIN IN A DIFFERENT WAY. ALSO IF IT WASN'T FOR RYAN'S WORDS I WOULD FEEL SO BAD, BECAUSE YOUR REACTION WAS A LITTLE HARSH OVER A CHILD GIVING A MOTHER A STUFFED BUNNY HOLDING A BIBLE AND SINGS AWESOME GOD BECAUSE HE KNOWS MOM LOVES JESUS AND RYAN I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR UPLIFT YOU LOOK AT BOTH SIDES AND I'M SO THANKFUL FOR THAT BECAUSE IF YOU HADN'T WROTE I REALLY WOULD OF BEEN LEFT FEELING SO DOWN I SHOULD'NT SAY BOTH SIDES, MORE LIKE THE GOOD OF SOMETHING. YOU WANT TO BRING OUT THE POSITIVE POINT OF WHAT YOU READ ,IF YOU FEEL THERE IS ONE, NOT JUST THE BAD AND RUN, AND IN A NUT SHELL TO ME THAT IS MORE ABOUT GOD, IN MY HEART ANYWAY. THANK YOU SO MUCH , NOW I FEEL LIKE THERE WAS A PURPOSE TO ME GOING ON THIS SITE. MRS PIGGY IF SOMEONE IS HAPPY ABOUT SOMETHING U DON'T AGREE WITH BUT U KNOW THERE HEART IS IN THE RIGHT PLACE TRY SOMETHING LIKE THIS, I THINK THE POINT BEHIND WHAT YOUR SON MEANT WAS THOUGHTFUL BUT THE BUNNY HAS A MEANING OF ...... AND TAKE IT FROM THERE, BUT ANYWAY RYAN THANK YOU FOR KEEPING THAT SPECIAL TO ME.

Hi LORIL - I became sidetracked from commenting on your purpose, but wanted to tell you how much gratitude I have for people whose purpose is caring for children and others in need.
I believe God has richly blessed my family through the loving work of youth volunteers in our church. Awhile ago, we had a chance meeting with a Youth Pastor while dining in a children's theme restaurant, and he invited us to attend his church. I was impressed by his humility, the compassion he demonstrated for my children and his vision for serving our community. I thought he was unique. However, after we attended this church for awhile I realized the same attitude I saw in him was replicated in all volunteers on his large staff. My wife and I had intended to explore other congregations which better matched our language and cultural demographics, but our children begged to continue attending what is now our home church. It is wonderful to see them so excited to be involved at church.
I am sure your enthusiasm for Jesus and caring for children inspire your students and blesses their families. Thanks for sharing your purpose. I pray God will bless you in the work you do for children.

I wasn't aware I was suppose to comment on all you wrote. I think it's wonderful that you have such a thoughtful child. Some of my best friends are Catholic and yes He is an Awesome God. I don't know why people don't want to die. Paul said to live is Christ and to die is gain. Yes, I guess simple questions can be hard to answer at least in a way that others are not offended.

Ryan,
You may exonerate the bunny as that is your choice. Since the topic of discussion is purpose, I had my mind keyed into that only. As for being challenged, I'm not. My purpose is to sow the seed. I realize some will fall in rocky places, the birds will get some, some will fall on shallow soil and some even if it takes root will be scorched by the sun. I will just keep sowing because I know that some WILL fall on good soil.
And yes, bunnies APPEAR to be humble creatures. But take a closer look to be sure.

OK I WON'T KEEP ON ABOUT THIS, BUT I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAY ALL THE BITTERNESS, YOU SEEM VERY DEFENCIVE . WHY? I DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT YOUR ANSWER IN THE VERY BEGINING OF THIS EXCEPT IS WAS CONFUSING YOU HAD SAID IN ONE STATEMENT THE WORLD IS EVIL AND WE GETWHAT WE WE ASK FOR SO EVIL WILL HAPPEN AND THATS IT, AND THEN IN ANOTHER STATMENT YOU SAY GOD ANSWERS YOUR PRAYER'S. SO I WAS CONFUSED , THAT WAS ALL REALLY, YOU'R ANSWERS ARE WHAT THEY ARE, NOT EVERONE IS GOING TO AGREE ON THE DEGREE OF EVERTHING, PERSONAL I THINK YOUR TO OLD TESTAMENT, BUT THAT'S NOT SAID IN ANY DISRESPECT, AND IT'S JUST MY THOUGHT, I'M ONLY SAYING THAT BECAUSE I'M MORE NEW TESTAMENT, AND IT JUST MAY BE WHY ARE LEVEL OF WHAAT WE THINK DIFFER A BIT, LORIL

MRS PIGGY, I JUST REREAD WHAT U WROTE TO RYAN, YOUR PURPOSE IS TO SOW THE SEED, YOU, FOR ONE, NEED TO GET OFF THE BUNNY THING, IT'S A BUNNY, ONE OF GODS CREATURES,YOUR TO HUNG UP ON THAT , U GIVE YOUR OPION AND OTHER'S GIVE THEIR'S . BUT YOU GET OFFENDED IF WE DON'T AGREE , FOR WAHT IT'S WORTH, MY THOUGHT HERE IS YOUR SO TRUE TO THE BIBLE TO EVERYWORD, AS IT SEEMS TO APPEAR BY MY READING, WHY ARE YOU SO RESENTFUL TO OTHER CHRISTAINS, IT SOUNDED TO ME YOU WERE SAYING IN YOUR LAST STATEMENT TO RYAN THAT THE SEEDS WILL FALL BUT NOT ALL WILL GROW SO YOU;LL JUST KEEP SOWING, NOW THAT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR SAYING HIS SEEDS DID'NT ROOT AND GROW.
I COULD BE WRONG, I HOPE I AM, IM JUST SAYING HOW I HEAR IT WHEN I READ IT. AND IF THAT IS WHAT YOU MEAN , YOU DO NOT JUDGE OTHER PEOPLE, IM SURE YOU KNOW THAT ONE, AND I SEE HIS SEEDS GROWING AND ROOTING THROUGH HIS WHOLE FAMILY.

Concerning this portion of your post. My reply is this: Galatians 3:16 states, "The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed."
Galatians 3:29 states, " If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise."
Since we know that the promise was given to Abraham in the Old Testament, it stands to reason that I should go to the OT to see what the promise was don't you think.
Anyway, you're correct in us differing in opinion. But it is also true that we, both being Christians, should agree that both the OT and the NT are the Word of God.
Since what I write is not acceptable even though it is the Word of God, I have no need to be defensive. I will not write anything else except BCV in discussions. This way, you can read it for yourself.
I thank God for you. Had you not posted my many faults, I would not have known what a wretched person I am. But thank God, I know who I am in Christ.

Mrs. Piggy - My hope for you is that you'd know the beneficial impact you have had on me. Some of the seed you have sown has taken root in me and borne fruit. Knowing your role well, you can accept that not all seed sown will achieve its intended purpose. However, some of the seed you've sown may not appear to be taking root, but perhaps is laying dormant until it is awakened on another day. I did look up all the scriptures you posted yesterday and today - Colossians 3:12-13 & Romans 14:1 are the verses I found to be most relevant for me today.
Thank you for directing me back to the Word, as you always do.

Hey Loril - I think you may have entered this site at a time when most of us were distracted with life events and busy preparing for Easter. I have always enjoyed the welcoming tone here. I regret that it took me so long to respond to your post related to your purpose. I think you were only the second person to tell us her purpose; I congratulate you for sharing what God is doing in your life.
I believe the first word you ever wrote on this site was wow - then you went on to converse on a dilemma which was important to me and very relevant to the discussion topic. I instantly connected with your enthusiasm and what you were saying in that post. That discussion topic was the first one I read when I first found this site and I had the same wow reaction which you expressed. Undoubtedly, it is wonderful to find believers with whom you tend to see eye-to-eye. In many of your posts I've found thoughts we share in common.
I also value those who see things very differently than I do. I feel I have learned much from these people I've met through this site. In fact, I would not want to be back where I was before I met these people. I still tend to immediately rush into disagreement or cringe with frustration whenever I read something that is unsettling to me. However, I've discovered if I ask questions and spend much time considering other's viewpoints, I often grow into understanding and sometimes agreement with ideas which, to me, were once unfamiliar and unwanted.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the return of the friendly nature of this forum - we each have an equal role to play here and it is so worth the effort.

for you. Had you not posted my many faults, I would not have known what a wretched person I am. But thank God, I know who I am in Christ.
mrs piggy this is what i mean. i did'nt post fault, and im not saying you have fault, yes i think the old testament is as important i also think since jesus died on the cross for our sins that there is more grace, and mercy and when i hear your postings i here more on the old testament way's thats not fault and i never said it was, and that is another thing we can all read the same page in the bible and have a different interpetation of what we read, kinda like how your interpetening my postings as being more insulting to you then what im writing about, and i never implied you were a wretched person thoes are your words. once again i never said anything about any ones faults or anyone being wretched, and i belive what the bible says old and new although i struggle on some things trying to understand what im reading is what keeps me seeking. Ryan thank you for your posting'S but i don't think this is a good thing for me, i really feel mrs piggy was to one way with her answers and if you did'nt agree with her fully she would be, well lets just say not happy about i,and i thought it was about just sharing your thoughts and fears not a place to feel you have insulted people because you don't see eye to eye. im thankful though for sharing conversation with you god bless you and your family. MRS PIGGY YOU KNOW THE BIBLE AND THAT IS WONDERFUL, JUST REMEMBER SOME PEOPLE THAT MAY COME TO THIS SITE MAY ONLY BE IN THE EARLY STAGES OF BEING A CHRISTIAN, AMD MAY NEED TO HERE BOTH THE OLD TESTAMENT AND
NEW TESTAMENT AND BY EXCEPTING JESUS THEY HAVE GRACE.
GOODBYE AND GOD BLESS. LORIL
