I was raised by a single mom who showed me the greatest of all was to love unconditionally. She took people in when they had no where else to go and she always got used and hurt thru it, tho later down the years they all remembered that she loved them regardless. I took after my mother i met some women that were in bad situations and took them into our home and one by one they chose their own paths some were godly ones and others were not . When we reach out to those that need help even tho they may not make the right decisions in the here and now later down the road that little bit of love you showed them will open their eyes and God will reveal what his love is thru us reaching out and loving them and helping them we show them Christ Jesus by doing so.. share with me some of your experiences if any .. what are your giftings and or callings.. ????

My gift is not hospitality, but it is the gift of discernment. I believe that God has given me this gift in order that I pray for people around me when the Holy Spirit leads me to pray. I must admit, though, I have always wished that I had more of the gift of service because I don't have much of that, although I do try to serve in my church parish as much as possible.

Hello renee I also have the gift of praying I love to intercede for those that can't or won't pray. But my gift of hospitality is the strongest. I have taught sunday school youth and childrens church and childrens choir and been on choir myself. I love to be of use wherever God leads me. It was great to hear from you hope to get to know you better God bless you

I, too, have enjoyed reading your posings. If I have a gift, I'm unaware of it. I have never asked the Father what my gift is. Now, that you have broahed the subject, I will pray and ask what my gift is, as I know gifts are meant to be shared with the body of Christ, to further the kingdom. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Mrs. Piggy,
You have shocked me twice tonight. I assumed your characteristic confidence meant you knew everything you cared to know. Are encouragement, diligence, determined faith and knowing how to apply the Word considered to be gifts? If so, you certainly have been blessed with co-occurring gifts!
Oh, and do you know the old song Tis a Gift to be Simple?

I just remembered the name of that song is Simple Gifts. In case you are interested, and you don't already know the song (it has been recycled many times over the past few decades) - try Google-ing tis a gift to be simple, and then click on the first item labeled Simple Gifts, to hear the music and read the lyrics. I think it to be a fitting theme song for the past few discussions.
Has the web-team thought of providing some musical accompaniment to any parts of the site?

Ryan,
I did as you said and yes, that is my feelings in the words to that song. I guess that song is my theme song. I'll put it to a different tune, though. Something a little more up beat would be my style.
Thank you.

Mrs. Piggy - I am delighted you enjoyed Simple Gifts. I had not thought of that song in awhile; it used to be everywhere, and was even popular amongst the non-religious crowds. I am glad you helped bring it to mind. Please don't give up on the tune. I think it is inseparable from the lyrics. You just need to search for a better arrangement. Simple Gifts was a Shaker dance tune from the mid 1800's - they really put out some good music, but they certainly did not know how to party, even for that period. I confess that I would love to hear a real head banging re-make of the song, but I'm guessing that is not quite your style either.
