I don't mean to sound negative or critical, but this site doesn't come up on Google unless I search for the name or address of the site. If I search for "learn about jesus" or anything like that, I can't find it. The only reason I even know about this site is because you told me about it personally. Most people use Google, so I'm afraid no one will ever find this site. You may want to do something about that. It would be a shame if the only people who find this site are your friends and family.

I'm glad you bring this up since it's a huge issue for me. First, the bad news - it's a fairly well known fact that no site will be have a decent ranking in Google for at least 8 months. They are trying to prevent people from manipulating the system by launching hundreds of web sites. This delay ensures that people only start a web site if they are in it for the long haul. We have about another 2-3 months to go. Now the good news - I have spent the last few months doing everything I can do make sure that it will get a good ranking in time. By the end of the year, I am confident you will see us on the first page. Last but not least, we are doing some paid advertising to get the word out until then. I share your concern - what good is this site if no one comes? I'll do the very best I can to make sure that we let people know about the site. Thanks, Katie.

We're still not getting any results on the major search engines, but I have made some significant changes that should make a difference. I have made the site appear to be static so that every article, reflection, prayer, etc., can be accessed from an address with no optional parameters. It gets a little complicated, but basically, the old way of accessing an article was to go to articles.aspx?id=33 where 33 is the unique ID of the article. Google doesn't really like this, and all the articles will look like one page as far as Google is concerned. Now, to access an article you go to /articles/33/title.aspx, so Google sees each article as a separate page. To make a long story short, this should be a huge help the next time the site is indexed.
