On The Other Side Of The Key Pad

It's easy i feel to be this awsome walk the line christian when you are a million miles away at the end of a key pad. I have learned that alot of things are easier said than done and who we really are is when nobody is around. Ive seen people go the extra mile to show they live for the Lord in public but in secret the are being sifted as wheat. I've had guys talk to me about integrity and turn around and compromise as if nothing. So ive just learnd to keep my lips closed because so many times we say what we wont do and Satan hears it and stratically presents us with an upgraded version of that wont do and it gets done. ( who are we really when its just us and God? Thank God for grace cause its very much needed in my life time to time. And i wanna pray for everyone who uses this site and encourage you to keep moving (((((((((((((((side note)))))))))))))( google King Christ Movement for all of you who enjoy christian rap. Or itunes for various kcm artiist. Great testimonies from all walks of life including my self JodyBlunt

What you have just said is quaintly put into fewer words...

"Talk is cheap!"
or
"Actions speak louder than words."

So true, I hear people do so much talking and preaching about how good of a Christian they are and then get into a situation and do the exact opposite of what a Christian is all about. I've learned to show my Christianity by just keeping quiet and talk things over with Jesus. Most times the wiser person is the one who keeps their mouth shut and only boast on the greatness of God and not how good of a Christian they are.

Talk is cheap as the selfish creatures fill the churches of America today. Jesus said, “Every tree is known by it’s fruit,” we say, “Actions speak louder than words.” Scripture also tells us, “Be found doer’s of the Word, not merely hearers that deceive themselves.” And Jesus also gives an illustration of a man helping another, who he does not know, in the parable known as, The good Samaritan. A person is found to be either a producer or a consumer in society, the choice is yours. Typically when a man and woman get married, the woman changes her last name to honor, by actions, the loved one. Therefore I say to thee, there are two kinds of people in the church, hristians and those who say they are Christians…

This thread of conversation sort of follows along something I've been thinking about this morning .... (please forgive me if I'm a bit off your topic here.)
I've often heard Christians using the word of God without thinking of it's context, or personal motivation .... what I mean is .. often we beat each other up with Scripture .. and even use it to soothe our own feelings of inadequacy.
I have often felt really lost when someone tells me I'm never alone 'cause I've got Jesus aka Holy Spirit in me. I'm well aware of the truth in that, but when those words come from someone with family and friends surrounding them, it rings pretty hollow when I've got neither of those luxuries at the moment. Sometimes I need "someone with skin on" ... a kind word, or a hug, or even a smile ... and I pray for God to show up by sending me a faithful saint with a few minutes to spare for me. I hope that I'm not being bitter about this because I praise God for families and Godly friendships that I've had in the past .. and hope will come again. I realize too, that times of silence are vital to my growth and I need to be thankful in ALL situations ... I'm trying my best.
But I think we all need to search out our own hearts when we blithely sling theology or Scripture at someone who is hurting. Are we telling someone that God is with them to salve our own concience because we have neglected to offer our time to them, or to pray for them/with them? Do we even give a moments thought of how WE would feel to be so alone in the world? Most cannot imagine not seeing another human being for days at time, or not having your phone ring all week ... no conversation with anyone for days ... think about it.
One of the places we toss out this kind of platitude is at funerals ... how often have we all spouted off a verse, or a reahearsed quick answer to someone's pain at the loss of a loved one, without thinking about how we would react to the same answer if we were the one in that pain? Would a loving hug be better than those words? Could we sit and just listen quietly and allow someone to cry while we sat with them, rather than try to fix what only God can fix.
I know that I've said some incredibly silly things in wanting to "help" someone feel better, instead of asking the Holy Spirit to give me the wisdom to love as Jesus loves. I pray that God will give me the courage to search my heart and motives before I speak ... is this for someone else's benefit or my own ... and would I find these words beneficial if I were in their shoes?
James 1:19 This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak ...
Thanks for listening ....
