I have decided for now not to moderate posts. That means that whatever someone posts will immediately be displayed on the site. I debated this for a while, but I think I want to go this way until there are some problems. If there are any problems, I can deal with them at that time, rather than trying to be too strict at the very beginning. Please share your thoughts on this - would you rather the convenience of not having to wait for your reply to be moderated, or the safety of knowing that nothing on the site will be offensive?

Yes, I think that's the way to go. You might be surprised - there may be very little problems and I think people will appreciate having things in real-time I think.

It's not a big deal either way. What you really need is some way to search through all the discussions.

There will be a ton of new features coming for this discussion area in the coming weeks and searching is 1 on my list. Right now, it's extremely basic, but I wanted to get it up and running so people could have a place to talk. I promise that it will be much better soon.

Yes, I think you would be fine not to moderate the posts but I do think you should have a button on there to "report abuse" or report inappropriate comments.

I have not yet implemented Julie's idea (I will do that soon) but there are three new features in the discussion area. Now, you can edit and delete your own posts, while moderators can delete and edit all posts. Finally, you now have the option of "subscribing" to a discussion so that you will be emailed automatically any time a new post is added. Enjoy!
