I want to know your thoughts on journals. Good, bad, indifferent?

Hi MrsPiggy,
Do you mean Personal Journals that you write yourself?
Or ones that others have written?
I love Both!!

Personal ones. I have received a couple of them as gifts this year. I had a diary as a teen, my brother read it and told my mom some stuff. I decided to not write private thoughts again. I wanted to be a writer as a child and in getting two of them from two different people, I'm thinking maybe God is trying to tell me something.

I had a Diary as a teen also.
My older Sister gave it to my Boyfriend, who ran down the street
reading it, while I cried chasing him tryin to get it back...
(After that I threw it away.)
MrsPiggy, the difference about my Diary, and my Journals, is that what I wrote in my Diary was written before I came to know Christ. (The things I wrote were selfish, or judgemental to others, or embarrassing...)
The things I write now in my Journal, are about my relationship with the Lord, or my hearts cry to Him, or prayers, and answers to prayers, or poems, or Scriptures, and I would not be ashamed if the whole world would read it!
I write now in my Journal, in hopes that after I leave this Earth to be with the Lord, my Kids, and Grandkids, and Future Generations with hear about my love for the Lord, and His love for us! (And hope that they will love Him to, and that I will witness about Him, long after my last breath!)

My Sister is also 50!
I'm glad you have decided to start a Journal!
I pray that the Holy Spirit gives you the words to write!
And one day, when others are blessed to read it,
may they hear with their hearts the love words you have shared!

Hello Sis. Soon I hope to be sharing with this part of the body of Christ, a portion of my testimony, that I believe I would'nt be able to share if it was not for the experience that I have gained from journaling. When I think about the early days of my journaling, I had people in the body teaching me different ways to journal. And although I have started and stopped many times, keeping a journal, God has always used it as a tool that has drawn me closer to his presence. Along with his word and meditation it is one of the most powerful things that I have ever exp. There is something awesome about reading something that you have written, especially when its about yourself. Also the ability to transparent with yourself, creates in you the ability to be transparent with others. Then there is the word of God itself, I believe that the writings of Paul are journals. Think of that ? I pray that the Holy Spirit will give you the wisdom you desire in your pursuit of this gift of journaling. Remember that," You are an awesome spiritual being of magnificent worth and value as a person Grace and Peace Philsogmanifest
