Need Your Support

The web site is very nearly finished. The only section left to complete is the "resources" part of the site, and quite honestly, I don't think I will tackle that until the fall. Right now, I think the focus has to be on growing the content of the site - articles, discussions, questions, etc. I need your help! Please don't be shy about posting to the site or letting people know about it. Please say and post whatever is on your mind. Right now, we're at a very difficult cross-roads - people won't spend time here if the site is empty, but it will stay empty until we get visitors who are willing to contribute! Catch-22! Please contribute any way you can. Your support means everything. Thanks.

I have been thinking about writing either an article or a reflection, I'm not sure which. Would that be ok?
tom- 5/9/2007 10:50:55 AM

Absolutely! Please send me an email with the details. I would love to post it to the site.

Let's hear it for Mark for finishing his first article! I love what you've done and I really appreciate the help. Thanks so much!
arsindelve- 5/24/2007 8:29:11 PM

Thanks. You know, Arsin, the reason it took so long is because of all the research I did...I read almost a whole book, and two or three articles on Wikipedia ;)

Mark is being modest. I've seen his library of books on these subjects, and I know he's been interested in and studying this subject for years. It's a pleasure to have his depth of knowledge and contributions to the site. I can't wait for his next article.

Tom - I got the text you sent me for the reflection and I'll get that up on the site today. Thanks so much, I really enjoyed it. That quote by Lewis is one of my favorites, and I think you did a great job expanding on it. (The rest of you will have to read Tom's reflection to see the quote!)
arsindelve- 5/25/2007 12:58:31 PM

Tom's reflection is now available (called: Light of the World), but unfortunately, it shows that I am the one who created it since I was logged in when I pasted Tom's text. Tonight, I will go into the database and mark Tom as the creator, but for now, please know that this reflection was 100 percent Tom's creation. Enjoy!

Thanks, Arsin. I appreciate your support and I look forward to contributing more in the near future.

Do you let anyone write an article and how do you approve of them? What if it is against your doctrine?
Paul Tillsonburg- 7/12/2007 1:28:35 PM

Good afternoon, Paul, and thanks for your comments. Not only do we permit people to write articles, but I strongly encourage and welcome it. It's our desire that Delve Into Jesus will be a community and a large part of that will be articles, reflections and devotionals contributed by our members.

When someone composes an article, it will be put into "pending" status so that only the author and moderators can see it. We will be sent an email automatically letting us know there is an item waiting to be approved. At that time, one of us will take a look, correct any spelling or grammar errors we find and then, assuming it's doctrinally sound, we approve it.

What to do if the article is against our accepted doctrine? It hasn't be an issue so far, but I presume we would engage the author in a dialog to reach some sort of compromise. If that weren't possible, our board of directors would meet to discuss the item and then go from there. We encourage people to write articles about issues and topics that are common to all Christian denominations and avoid topics that are particular to, say, Reformed doctrine or Roman Catholicism, so hopefully it will be a rare problem.

Thanks again, and welcome to the discussion. Glad to have you here with us.
