Furious

Posted by Scott on 01/09/13 : No Ratings

Resource Type: Album
Category: All Music

Style: Contemporary Worship

Furious is an outstanding worship album, with a variety of different songs that speak right to the heart. Each track is put together very well, and Riddle's voice brings the worship to life. A number of these songs are definitely Sunday-morning worthy. God's name is lifted high in songs like Love Came Down, Acquitted, Fall Afresh, and Furious, and through the rest of the album. It's sure to become a favourite.

The Holiness of God

Posted by navyservant on 08/05/09 : No Ratings

Resource Type: Book
Category: Theology

This is an incredible account of how Holy and terrifying our loving God is.Yes He is forgiving and loving as well as pure, but these are not the only qualities of God

There are several accounts in the Old Testament of how careful and cautious God's people had to be to approach Him. He is still that same God and this book will surely put the awe and respect and fear back into followers. This book is not written as one to scare anyone or show God as a mean, angry God, but He did display anger in a terrifying way and struck those dead instantly, who treated Him lightly. We as followers need to always put His Holiness first when drawing near to Him.This is seldom done or taught in the churches today. An outstanding book that shows us how to view our creator.

This book has definitely showed me to take my walk with God oh so seriously and to realize how great a blessing it was to have this terrifying unknowable God give His son to pay our debt and appease His anger because He loves us that much.I always knew that the Lord is and never was a soft, pushover or a cushy wushy easy creator as too many view Him. Churches all speak of love as God's greatest character trait, but His holiness is the greatest and most important and should never be overlooked.

This website was created by a missionary from New Zealand and Malaysia that moved to the states in January 2009. He has blessed so many people from his ministry and burden for souls. The website is basically a detailed discription of the ministry and his personal testimony of how God changed his life around. He now travels around the country encouraging, preaching, teaching, and equipping pastors with practical tools to train and retain new converts with the beautiful message of Salvation in Jesus Name.

This website has a variety of tools available to people that would like to teach families of different ethnic backgrounds. There is also video testimonies of lives that have been changed by a discipleship program. I personally enjoy the Daily Inspiration and the pictures that are posted monthly.

Discover the Keys to Staying Full of God

Posted by mrspiggy on 07/27/08 : Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 in 1 votes

Resource Type: Book
Category: Christian Living

This book is great for anyone who has a yo-yo relationship with God. Andrew relates many personal testimonies that he experienced either himself or someone he prayed for, including raising the dead. It is very practical and chock full of scriptures to emphasize each point. A must-read for any new Christian. The keys are found in Romans 1:21. 1. Glorify God 2. Be thankful 3. Recognize the power of your imagination and 4. Have a good heart.

After reading this book, I realize that I have more authority and power than I thought.

Provocative Faith

Posted by loverofhim08 on 06/30/08 : Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 in 1 votes

Resource Type: Book
Category: Christian Living

It is basically a manual on how to live your life "provocatively" A lot of times that word gets thrown around in a wordly sense, but in this book, it is used completley differently. I love this book and the lessons it teaches. If you want to change your faith around and start to live on the wild side of faith, then try this book.

I really learned how to live a little more wild in my faith. Not in a bad way, but in a way that when people see me they want to know what is different about me. I love it.

Walking with God

Posted by mrspiggy on 04/22/08 : Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 in 2 votes

Resource Type: Book
Category: Christian Living

This book is about a year of the author's life. Stories taken from his journal entries covering various situation from his dog dying to unholy artifacts in his home to buying a new truck. Ordinary things which he talks to God about and God talks to him, daily.

This book is written on a high spiritual plane. And though it's for any and every Christian, I don't think any or every Christian would be receptive to it. I state this because throughout the book, the author deals with spiritual warfare. This is a touchy subject for some believers. He touched on this very thing. An excerpt:

'Not all gospels are equal. We've fallen prey to this thinking that it's wrong to draw a distinction between various movements in Christianity or Churches or Christians. ...I recall two different conversations I had with two different friends.'

'...the comment I had just made was, "they don't get it." What I was referring to were three issues - that the heart is central to the Christian life, that we are invited into a conversational intimacy with God, and that spiritual warfare is real.'

' What you believe about these issues will profoundly shape the rest of your Christian experience.'

However, any Christian seeking a more intimate relationship with God should have a copy of this book in their personal library. I have one.

I'm inspired that a man, knowing who he is in Christ, wrote this book. My opinion is a "real" man will lay aside his ego, and humble himself before God. Here is a real man writing about intimacy with God. Had a woman wrote the book, I don't think I would have been as inspired. At the very end of the book is a five-page prayer that he prays every morning, even before breakfast. For me, this moved "As for me and my house..." to another level. I am excited that men are taking their rightful (righteous)places in Christ. Men of God. Excellent read, for me.

Save Me From Myself

Posted by SoldierForOne on 01/14/08 : Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 in 1 votes

Resource Type: Book
Category: Biography

Anyone who listens to hard secular music will know the band Korn. Many people who DON'T listen to hard music even know the band Korn. This book is about the former lead guitarist for Korn - Brian Welch. It is autobiographical, and tells the story (in much detail) about growing up and forming Korn with some friends and living the 'Rock & Roll' lifestyle complete with drugs and alcohol. Then some changes happen in his life, including Brian's decision to live for Christ and the birth of Brian's daughter.

There is some language in this book that some may find offensive, but it is used to describe the state of the author at the time.

This book is an amazing testimony to how God can take the most messed up of lives and totally change them for Him. No matter who you are or what you have done...God loves you intensely and will forgive you.

Awesome...

Sunday!

Resource Type: Album
Category: Rock
Link to Album: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B000UZ4EHU?ie=UTF8&tag=delin...

I think this might be their finest album yet. It is unfortunate, in one sense, that it contains some songs I don't like. That's never been an issue with any of their other albums. On the other hand, the songs I do like are so good they are beyond anything else they have ever released. These guys really know how to write songs. They have amazing depth and creativity and there is nothing unoriginal about the music on this album.

One of the things I admire most about Tree63 is their straight-up praise lyrics. Other contemporary bands (Kutless, Skillet, TFK) have either incomprehensible lyrics, or lyrics which don't seem to have much to do with Jesus Christ. Tree63 goes in the opposite direction, with lyrics that boldly and confidently offer praise and worship with no hidden meaning. More than any other rock band, I feel like I am really worshipping God when I put in their CD.

Answer To The Question

I saw Tree63 live before I really knew who they were, having only heard a few of their songs on the radio. When I saw them live, I was absolutely blown away. I remember thinking, "How can three guys produce such a rich, full sound?" These three guys are not just great live, they also produce really original, catchy and inspirational tunes. I started listening for their skill as musicians, but it's the quality of their songwriting which has kept me listening over and over. This is not the same cookie-cutter rock that is all too common, this is something different and fresh.

I was a Christian for a long time before I ever began listening to Christian music. I had a perception that all Christian music was the same - lame and boring. From time to time, a co-worker would play this CD inside our small workspace, and one day it just hit me - "Hey, this isn't bad!"

I picked up a copy for myself and played it over and over again. Suddenly, I wanted more. I started asking my co-worker for more bands like this one. On his recommendation, I picked up Delirious, Tree 63 and others. But this CD, which I still think is one of the best in contemporary Christian music, will always hold a special place in my heart. It was the start of my deep love for Christian music.

Too bad dc Talk is not around anymore, because this is a great album. There is not one weak track on this CD, and there are some incredible standouts such as "In The Light" and "What Have We Become".
