Praying And Sleeping

Would a prayer get answered if you fall asleep while asking for it? So many times, I am talking to God before bed, but end up falling asleep before I am done. I often feel very guilty about this as well. Just not sure if my prayers would be answered if I didnt have the strength to stay up.

Our Father knows what you need even before you ask Him (Matthew 6:8)! I fully believe that God will still answer your prayers even if you fall asleep during them. I often fall asleep when i'm praying at night. If it's a real problem for you, how about praying in the morning instead or as well? Or kneel at the side of your bed so that you don't fall asleep until you've finished?

Try not to feel guilty about it if you do fall asleep. The enemy could easily use that as a way of preventing you from taking your prayers to God, and He wants to hear from you whether you're sleepy or not. :-)

Remember, God's word tells us to "pray continually" (1Thess 5:17). That includes when you're falling asleep!

I hope that helps.
