Bruce Almighty

I did not want to watch this movie, but once my husband saw the previews with the dog going to the bathroom, it became a must-see in our house. We rented the video.

There are a couple of points I'd like to touch on. First, I liked that God was mopping the floors. I liked that the writer decided to show the humility of (Jesus). Also, I liked that Romans 12:1 was worked in. (When Morgan (God) told Bruce to BE the miracle) I love this scripture and to me, it made the movie worth the watch.

Your opinions?

I liked the movie too!
The thing that touched me the most was:
At first, when the people wouldn't listen,
and they refused to get on the Boat...
It made me think of people in the real world who won't take Jesus seriously. They think they have more important things going on in their life, and they don't think they need to be saved!

i love how the one power restriction was that God can't make people love him that is beautiful :)

I think it was a very good movie, but most people who see it dont really listen to the messages about God in the movie.

I didn't watch Bruce Almighty but I did see Evan Almighty.

When I saw the shorts for Bruce Almighty I thought it seemed like in some ways it was actually mocking GOD and not just the unbiblical views some people hold about God.

I guess the fact that these movies can be thought provoking and can also give opportunity for discussion is good.

Clair,

I originally did not want to see it for the same reason. I didn't go t see it at the movies. Just saw it on television. I enjoyed it. Also, the Bible clearly states in Galatians 6:7 that God is not mocked. A man or woan reaps what he sows.
The portion of the movie that touched me was when Morgan Freeman said people keep looking up for God to solve their problems and that we should be the miracle. It was scrpturally based for the Bible states in Genesis that on the seventh day God rested from all His work. And He has given us everything we need to live godly lives.
