Hello Everyone,
Thank you for creating this website! I'm a Christian with multiple disabilities who communicates via sign language and speech-generating device. As a result, conversing with others face-to-face or on the telephone is challenging. In spite of that, the Lord has given me an online job working with others like myself and a wonderful a husband who also has a disability.
Because of medical and transportation issues, we haven't found a church that holds services at a time we can be there. As a result, we have no church family and listen to sermons online to be fed spiritually. We want genuine Christian fellowship and have tried online chat rooms.
However, they feel superficial after awhile. Many times people pray over us for physical healing but we don't want it. We feel God is using us as we are and would rather receive spiritual and emotional healing that lasts throughout eternity (John 5:1-14.)
I also have friends with speech disabilities who are facing similar challenges and issues. Is this a place for us here? If not, could you please recommend places we can participate in Bible studies and prayer?
I look forward to hearing from you! Thank you so much!
Emmanuel,
Pam

Hi Pam,
I enjoyed reading your post!
This website is very welcoming; even though it has been rather quiet lately.
I hope you and all the friends you mentioned will light it up your lively conversation and unique viewpoints. It would be nice to see you all make DIJ your home on the internet!
You made a great point about desiring spiritual and emotional healing above physical healing.
I've been going through a tuff time lately, but I'm pleased to find my self desiring God more than healing.
If I don't feel up to responding to your future posts, I'm sure I, and others, will benefit from reading them.
Welcome!

Pam,
Welcome, it's great to have you here! Years ago, as I was developing Delve into Jesus, one of the long-term visions I had for the ministry was an online Church. I envisioned a sense of community more than just a place to worship virtually on Sunday morning. Years later, I don't think we've fully realized that goal (as Ryan says, it has been quiet this past year) but one aspect of the ministry has held true to that vision, and that is the prayer section. It is accessed by many people daily, and it's very simply a place where you can post your prayer and others will read your prayer and pray with you. Alternatively, you can post it privately and no one else will read it, but it still offers an opportunity for you to express in words exactly what you need to say to God. I hope you will give it a try - you can access it from the main menu above.
I'm sorry to say that Bible study is not something where Delve into Jesus has much to offer. I wish that it did, and I hope to remedy that someday. If you're not already familiar with it, let me recommend Gospel.com, which is a massive on-line directory for Christian content. It's the first place I look whenever I need to find new Christian websites. I hope you find it helpful.
Welcome, again. I hope you will find what you're looking for, and if there is anything we can do, please don't hesitate to ask.
