Unfaithful

I have been a Christian for many year and have struggle with what I have come to know as "wonderlust" Never being happy with what God has blessed me with always wanting more of something else be it a bigger model of the car I have or another women in my church or home group. Even after being warned and God giving me a way out I have been unfaithful with another women close within our church circles. My pastor and closest friend is aware of my struggle and journey dispite my openess and willing to win the battle I have fallen and sin against my father in heaven and my precious wife. I now fear sharing this my pastor and friend since the act has taken place I still want forgiveness and a way out.

it starts with a decision,.....yours.....this is what i said one day in my early days of being a Christian i didn't believe in satan witches ect, but my husband told me other wise...."I won't be beaten by a looser" from that moment on i stood my ground, find something in the word and stand on it , start taking back your ground, God bless.

I have found plenty of things in the word that are warnings ... I agree I have to stand on them but will power is not enough and this an on going battle not cop-out. I feel I am driven by compassion as well. Something like your greatest strenght is you greatist weakness. Once again my compassion for this person has lead me to the wrong place. Her needs are not being met and its not my place to meet them OUCH!

You are right only He can meet our needs, and again your right will power isn't enough but Holy Spirit power is, and we need His wisdom and decernment with compassion or we end up hurt and or hurting others, when we are led by the Spirit not our compassion it works, i this is how it goes...our weakness becomes our greatest strength, so read Proverbs 3:5-6, your right again it's a battle not a cop out, but it says in His word "the battle belongs to the Lords" so praise God nad let Him battle you pray. God bless you and strengthen you .

Shawn,
Speaking as a man who has had to overcome lust and sexual addiction on top of many other addictions, and as a husband who almost lost his family, I would like to encourage you to hope. Our Father does not want His children to suffer failure in the face of temptation and He provides lots of weapons against the flesh. There is a recovery program called Celebrate Recovery that was a huge help to me in overcoming lust and sexual addiction. This may be a good place to start as it will provide support, accountability, fellowship and real life solutions to what you are facing. This is a church run recovery and most towns have one available.

I will add you to my daily prayers. You will be victorious in our Lord Jesus Christ and I am certain the Holy Spirit is waging battle on your behalf even now.

Blessings upon you!

Hey KC

Thank you for your encouragement its got worse before it got better since you sent you note. Thank for your prays this is always the way to wage war with the saints, I am glad to say I have made a descison to put God First and have chosen repentance and do however fear the repccussions of my action even with the GRACE on my side. I have attend a similar ministry called living water a few times and have an accountability partner and I "have" been accountable with him. So I believe I am in the right direction, having said that I am not a fool and know the power of lust and keeping company with the lady in question. She is attractive and broken (as I am) so please pray that God would make away and that Roman 8:28 would prevail that God works for the Good in all situations for those that love him..

Big Hug Shawn
