Which Religion Is The Right Religion?
|
|
|
|
I am not trying to start anything here, but I have just recently gotten my life back on track and found my relationship with GOD. What I am not sure about is if I am at the right place to continue my journey and relationship with GOD. I love the church I go to and feel great everytime I leave, but reading the Bible, I sometimes question which religion is the "right" based on the Bible! Also, which Bible is right? Can someone tell me what they know to be right?
Thanks a million,

Hi Curious and thanks for your posting,
A very valid question that you are asking, and one that every person must ask to get a solid foundation for their faith.
I mean....If you are not absolutely convinced that you are following the one and only God, how can your faith ever stand up to any trails?
May I ask a question? What faith do you follow? Are you a Christian, Jehovah's Witness, Muslim? I am asking this so I can have a better idea where you are coming from.

I was baptised Catholic, but as an adult in the last year I have been going to just a Christian church called the Journey. I love it and I feel wonderful about being there and when I leave I feel like it was all about me and how I feel, but really when I read my Bible and try to learn more(since I am an adult and am truly commited to do this right this time), I find myself wondering where should I be.

Hi Curious,
I have had similar thoughts to you in the past- Maybe you are getting more from church at the moment because the minister helps you relate to and apply God's word to your life. The Bible is not an easy read, and it can be so difficult to understand. I've found that talking to other Christians about it has helped enormously- Every time I reach a section I don't understand, I write it down and then ask someone about it. Ask a few people for their interpretations of the passage, and look at bible studies and devotionals. God wants you to understand His word, so pray to him about it! Ask Him to speak to you through the scriptures- it worked for me.
I found this quote helpful, I hope you do too.
"Pray first before opening God's word. Ask for guidance and to be able to accept what is written and to be able to apply His will to your life."
God bless

Curiousmuch,
I want to ask a few more questions if I may. I am trying to get to the root of the doubt that you are experiencing. I think most Christians go throug a phase where they start to question what they believe in (that is pretty common by the way, it shows that you are serious about your faith, and that you are not prepered to just blindly believe what people tell you).
If we can figure out where you began to wonder, we have a starting point. Is there something specific in the Bible that is causing you to wonder, or is it something else, in the church for example?
