HI-

I am new to this discussion group. I just re-committed myself to Jesus Christ last night and want to let everyone know. However, I have been suffering from vertigo since August but have had it on and off for 8 years. The docs still don't know what is wrong. Basically I feel like I am on a boat but I still have a career and still go to work. Since August I have gotten better but not where I need to be. I live in San Antonio/Houston, Texas and am in the US Armed Forces for 22 years. My career is going great and now recently I found out I have high blood pressure as well. I am happily married with 2 very young children 2 and 4 years old (two girls) but my family is 219 miles away in San Antonio since we could not sell our house when I got stationed here in Houston.

This illness has really caused severe depression for me and when I was on medical leave for a month back in September did not sleep close to a month. Thank the Lord I am sleeping better now at night.

I know I can't deploy to Iraq or Afganistan with this but the military says its OK and I continue to make positive contributions here. I guess I feel guility because many of my soldiers will deploy but not me due to medical. Of course my wife is happy and my little girls, who do not understand about what is going on overseas, would be happy as well. Is it wrong to feel this way?

Anyway, need prayer from everyone to help me get through all of this....

Well done very happy for you and welcome, i keep thinking God works in MYSTERIOUS ways, not saying He has given you this but He will use it, it may not be His will for you to go over seas at this time, only time will tell, it's understandable how you feel, it's what you train for, ask yourself would you take one of your soldiers if he wasn't 100, i think not, you will get over this, because with salvation comes healing, maybe He wants you to spend time in the word, seeking Him.Put your trust in Him He wants and has only the best for you, and your family, enjoy this time. I pray His peace, joy and protection over you His will be done i pray He opens doors no man can shut, shuts doors no man can open, God bless and Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Glen, I also have Vertigo. For me, the Doctor said I also have Meiners Disease. (the symptoms are dizzyness and spinning, from Vertigo.)
The last Doctor I went to really helped me!
He said what causes this for me is "SALT and STRESS!"
He gave me a pill I take once a day!
It is called:Triamterene-Hctz 37.5-25 Mgapo
For:Maxide-25 MG Tablet Ber
(I know it sounds like big words, but it is actually just
a Water Pill!)
I hardly get Vertigo at all now!
I hope your Doctor can help you too!

I'm sure the doctors have checked your blood sugar as well as your blood pressure, right? As the sisters have stated before, God forgives our sins and heals all our diseases. We will lift you in prayer that Father God will reveal to you the cause of the vertigo.

Hi Mrs Piggy, thanks for the welcome...Oh yes the doctors have checked my blood sugat. My blood pressure is 162/92 but that was at the Denist Office the other day. Please continue to lift me in prayer because last night I did not sleep well and tossed and turned all night. I also suffer from anxiety and depression. I was fine and was doing well but I think it was caused by a cholorestrol lowering drug called Zocor...I googled it and insomina and anxiety is a side effect for some who are sensitive to medication as I always been. I am alone here in Houston as my wife and kids are back in San Antonio and go home on weekends. So I am thankful to the Lord for that. What state or country do you live in? What is your actual name? I am Glenn as you know.....God Bless

Ignited by faith....so you had Meinere's and vertigo to. Yes, it is hard to deal with as I have had it on and off for 8 years. Actually I have somewhat of a diagnosis called a microvascualr compression of the 8th Nerve which causes MDDS like symptoms, or Mal Debarqment Syndrome. You can google it to find out more. Praise God that you are getting better and have the right meds. I just try to go to prayer when I feel down about this which today I felt like I was jumping out of my skin at work due to the anxiety. Here's the strange thing. Work is going well, I have a very happy marriage, own a nice 3,100 sq foot home in San Antonio full of beautiful Christmas lights, and have 2 little girls 2 and 4 years old and yet I laid in bed last night unable to sleep due to my mind racing. But again think it was from the medication. I prayed and prayed but didn't seem to make it better. God's timing I gather. I am also 44 years old and get to thinking why I had kids later in life, again it was God's plan the day I was born. He had it all figured out? Right? Tommorrow I drive home 219 miles to see my family for the weekend.

Now my wife has health problems also. She has an autoimmune disease and arthritis so she struggles as much as I do with my health issues. Please pray for her as well. She goes into surgery next month on the 12th for a hernia operation. And my mind races about that also especially laying in bed before I try to sleep.

Mammak--it's funny you mention that it might be God's plan for me to have those so I am not deployed because my wife and I were just talking on the cell phone about the very same thing. She somewhat agreed also. If I don't make it to Iraq or Afgan for a deployment I wouldn't be the first officer to get Disqualified at the Mobilization Station for medical. My wife and I are at a consensus its better for me to get stationed 219 miles away versus 8119 miles away in the desert right?

Everyone who answered, I would like to get to know you better because I need some support network for what is going on in my life....

I have been to both SA and Houston many times. I've also been to Dallas a few times. That was when I lived in Austin. I have many friends in the Lone Star state. Right now, I'm freezing in Chicago. Since you're the only person to ask, my name is Marilyn. I was actually named for Marilyn Monroe. I dyed my hair blonde last year just to get the full effect. LOL I took Zocor for over a year until I build my faith up enough to stop taking it. I also changed my diet, just had my first burger on Monday.

how you doing glenn. first i want to say that god has this situaton under control bro; it's good to see somebody of your character so dedicated to his call of duty.thank you for that also you guys/girls play a major factor in todays world i have a younger niece stationed in SA not even 19 yet.And boy did i feel down.But i respect her more because for some people it's a chance at a better opportunity.But believe me man there is a reason for everything that takes place, god bless you, bro

And yes as a family member we really hate to hear of the words of our loved ones going off to war..overseaes...or anything of that nature. Hi and God bless, i have just come home from hospital after 3 weeks and my second operation in 5 weeks i have come home home sick can't walk on my own ect ect i know what's wrong and i've gone from a well and happy mother of 5 to a we can't help you in just 7 weeks but you know what i don't need there help i have the GREATEST helper of all time , so let me say GOD knows whats wrong and HE is in control find that thing that you have with HIM rest in that trust HIM Hi will get you through, i was so scared of 2 tests they needed to do that i said NO!! everyone said it's easy you can do it they had no idea of my fear only of the tests then one a scripture was sent to ne by a friend and freedom came no more fear tests done Praise God Psalm 34-4, believe that you are healed hear what the Doctor says BUT don't accept, say thank you but no thank you , it works for me. I don't care what my body says this is not HIS plan for my lifestay in His word stand on His promises get prayer what He want's is FAITH what He ansewers is PRAYER. Lord touch our brother and set him free heal him in Jesus mighty name, i pray he feels you in such a way that he knows you are all he needs in good times and bad, i pray for peace, the words of a song You hold my every moment You calm my raging sea Y ou walk with me through fire You heal all my disease I trust in you i trust in you i believe You'r my HEALER ECT . gOD BLESS
