Money

I have noticed that people are posting prayer requests for financial blessings. Jesus said, "Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap." Luke 6:38
He gives seed to the sower. His thoughts and ways are above ours. Do not be deceived. God cannot be mocked. You will reap what you sow.
What say YOU?

I think this is a tough one. I know I struggle with finding the balance between two things Jesus taught - He taught us not to worry, since God knows what we need. But He also taught that we have not because we ask not. That is a fine line to walk and I think people are perhaps leaning too far toward the "ask" side, and not enough to the "don't worry" side.

How about ask and then don't worry?

Of course! But I sense from your post that you feel that many people posting prayer requests are worrying too much?

It concerns me that there are people who act as if Almighty God is an ATM. We will all have troubles, Jesus said so, but, there are people posting that want prayer for finances and may not have a relationship with the Father, who supplies all our needs. Remember that Jesus said, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added."

Well said Mrspiggy...well said. Plus if we really have Jesus in our hearts and not just in our mouths we would understand that prayer doesn't work without faith. We don't have to ask Him but one time.

It doesn't concern me that people ask for prayer for finances, or that they may not have a relationship with God, it doesn't work the same for everyone it's great they turn to Him, it's up to God if He answers or not, i pray believing and wanting God to answer then they know or think, ok i should look deeper at this God who answers prayer, at the end of the day He has called us to pray, Jesus takes it to the Father then the Father ???

There are no favorites in God's eyes. And you have to have a relationship with Him. There is no compromising...we can ask for anything we like and mammak is right..it is soley upto God...but as mrspiggy said "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His Righteonous and All things will be added." That's the WORD....not saying you can't ask but telling you I believe the order in asking.

We all know that God has set principles for financial blessings. And they do work for every believer. Mammak, I understand your point of praying for others that they may seek God. But, if they are not in relationship with Him, they are not using their money in His way. The Bible states that it is horrible to strengthen the hand of the evildoer. (Jer. 23:14)

Before I'm bombarded on how I know the people asking for prayer are evildoers, I don't. What I do know is God is faithful to His Word. If He said "bring the whole tithe and I will open the window of heaven and pour out a blessing you won't have room to receive." He meant that. If He said, "Give and it shall be given to you", He meant that. God's Word is True and Good. Evil is the absence of good. I don't want to strengthen the hand of a person who is only looking for financial gain for himself.

I will speak on my life only, i love the missions and there are so many needs. God is good and He keeps it coming, He doesn't say Kaye your a good girl here's , but he meets my needs, it can be scarey at the start trusting God to do for us, but we get there, i pray these people get there, and that He meets their needs on the way, as for using the money His way i wasn't, i wasn't using it in a bad way either, paying a morgage running the house 5children school ect, is not wrong, we only had 1 wage but He met my needs, i now get it.Jesus never turned anybody away, i don't know the heart but i hear the asking for prayer, i respond to that, the rest is up to God, and praise Him for that

Mammak,

Pardon me. I don't mean to imply that people asking for money blessings are not doing His will. But, I'm not willing to take the chance on praying for someone to get money and they buy drugs or guns to kill. I get what you're saying. I have always given offerings in church since childhood. I was taught that way. When I became an adult and read about tithing, I started doing it because God said so. It was simply obedience for me. Tithes, offering and giving is as natural as breathing for me. As there is no way for me to differentiate one request from another, it would be wise for me to just pray God's will be done in the person's life. Right? Yes, you're right. God will bless whomever He chooses. But, I know He will bless them if I pray for them.

First John 5:15 says different. Check the source.

Iknow that, and i still say not all pray, i have been in church the whole church prayed, i have prayed, i'm not saying for me or money, it didn't come to pass, that's where i trust His will and timing

Sister,

I agree with you. Not all prayer is answered. Only when we pray His will.
When we pray His will, it always comes to pass. Otherwise, the scripture would be a lie.
If you know your prayer is in line with His will, you need only wait for His timing.
