When Is Your Anniversary?

Hebrews 13:4 says 'Marriage is honorable to all'. So, I got to thinking why not find out the date of everybody's anniversary, so we can devote that day to praying a thanksgiving prayer for your marriage. I am honored that so many of you will be taking the day off for mine. Mine is Monday, September 1st.

This is such a great idea. I am floored by the number of prayer requests involving failing marriages. Before we began this ministry, I would never have guessed just how powerfully the enemy is assaulting this sacred institution. We must fight back!

I love my wife and family so much! I would be devastated if I lost them, and so I would appreciate your prayers any time. Our anniversary is Aug 13th. I will remember you, Mrs Piggy, this Monday, God Bless.

Jesus and my Husband are the biggest blessings of my life!
I wish everyone had a healthy Marriage.

I had a dispute with my wife last night, so I was intrigued by this topic when I read it today. Thanks for initiating the discussion.

My wife and I have two wedding anniversaries to celebrate. We first got married in my country but on my wife's birthday, June 23. We had planned to be married in a hot air balloon floating over a fabled New England island. However, the balloon guides refused to take flight due to high winds in the upper atmosphere. So, a handful of laughing friends, dressed in formal attire, scrambled up a jagged and sometimes muddy cliff until we reached a lighthouse overlooking the Atlantic. The sun and the moon were both in the sky over the rocky coast colored by sprays of wildflowers blooming from every crag. It was an inspiring setting for a holy ceremony; the most splendid wedding I've ever attended. We knew too little about life then but, we were unshakably sure this marriage was right.

In a whirlwind of life and time turbulence, we learned marriage is often so far from a sunny day at the shore. However, without reservation and with much of the same excitement of our first ceremony, we later had a traditional big cathedral and family event. This time we got married in the land of her birth but on my birthday, December 19. One of many memorable happenings to mark that day was a brief snow shower. This was remarkable because it was the first time in over one hundred years that this tropical locale had experienced snow flurries, and my family knew that from the time I was a young boy, snow had been what I most desired for my birthday. On that birthday, the beauty and rarity of falling snow was eclipsed by the gift of my stunning bride.

Occasionally, my wife will mention she is still expecting a wedding in a balloon. For now, God has given me two extraordinary wedding days to remind me I am required to love my wife like Christ loves the Church.

During the next few days, I will be remembering your wedding anniversaries Mrs. Piggy and Blue1, and will be anticipating blessings for your marriages.

mrspiggy,

My wedding aniversary is Sept. 2nd...33 bumpy years ago. Where did all the years go?

The funny thing is we both have been known to forget it...I'm not quite sure how or why?..It's either, we are just so comfortable with our marriage that it's not about the numbers, or...I'm not sure...My husband is not the romantic type, nor am I the type who needs it, so I guess that explains it?

My husband says that God made me perfectly for him...he actually says that God sent me to him to save him...that's probably true because he sure was into some crazy stuff back then, and I put the stop to all that stuff..but on the other hand he saved mine too...I do believe we were meant for each other...

He's 15 years older than I'am...alot of people say he robbed the cradle..I like to look at it this way...I kept him young, and he grew me up..so we met in the middle somewhere in those 33 years..

Unlike Ryans fairy tail wedding, we got married at the court house with 2 witnesses and a judge, who gave us a very stern lecture about the seriousness of marriage, during my husbands lunch break.

No family..no one to give me away..no wedding dress, brides maids, best men, flower girls, no fuss, nor frills..We walked out the parking lot..kissed and he went back to work. Our friends gave us a little party that evening in our little 1 bedroom appt and a homemade wedding cake..

Happy Anniversary everybody...

Mark 10: 2 The Pharisees came and asked Him, Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife? testing Him.
3 And He answered and said to them, What did Moses command you?
4 They said, Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce, and to dismiss her.
5 And Jesus answered and said to them, Because of the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. 6 But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female.a 7 For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, 8 and the two shall become one flesh;b so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.

Lapanache,

Your story sounds a lot like mine. Actually, most of what you post is familiar to me. We're the same age and my hubby and I both went to work after leaving the courthouse. He is 12 years my senior. We didn't tell anyone until after the deed was done. No reception or party. I was in college and had class that night. I am still tickled to remember that he was so accustomed to us not seeing each other on my class nights, he went home after work and went to sleep. :) He woke up later that night and called me. I reminded him we were married, but told him to stay home and go back to sleep. It took us 3 months to decide which house to sell and which to call home.

Hallelujah Almighty God! Thank you for your boundless love; thank you for this couple you've invited to be partakers of your divine nature of love. Bless the prayerful wife for her faith; supply this husband with ever-increasing passion and love for you and his wife. We praise you for your work of bringing them into perfect unity! Amen.

Marriage is a miracle borne of God's love!

He teaches us to love by supplying just the right spouse with whom to practice. Then he gives us families, missions and years for us to marvel at how that love expands.

For those friends celebrating the blessing of marriage over the next few weeks, I pray for your continuous appreciation of the miracle and experiencing of the love God designed for you.

I realize that more than a month has passed, but I don't want to be remiss in thanking you both, Ryan and Mrs. Piggy. You've both been cherished members of Delve for a very long time, and I consider you both to be dear friends.

Thank you for your prayers and best wishes. Our anniversary was truly wonderful.

I regret that I did not post best wishes on your anniversaries, which just recently passed, but there is never a wrong time to pray for a marriage, and I will do so for both of yours today.

Then, I will put your anniversaries in my new electronic calendar and will not forget next year! If technology cannot save my absent-minded brain, then only God can.

Rejoice in the LORD always, and again I say "REJOICE!!"

Michael,

You do NOT have an absent-minded brain. The Word of God says, we have the mind of Christ. I know that you know this and I know that you know the Word also says, "you will have whatsoever you say." Bear in mind that we are to speak only what we want to see. My marriage needs prayer today, so, you are right on time! My hubby and I thank you and pray blessings over your life.
