i always wondered as i got older, when a loved one would pass away, and you were given comfort in being told, "they are with god now" but yet they really aren't yet. until jesus comes back, none of those buried are with god, but yet we still tell our kids this lie? even adults think this, am i missing something?

Hi Shawn, Nice to meet you! I believe that when we die, our "spirits" do go to be with the Lord! Our "bodies" will join us later, at the Judgement and the Resurrection. I am reminded of these verses; 2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
