Examples Of God Bringing Someone To Repentance

I have been praying for about 12 years that my unsaved spouse is drawn near to God, and that God will touch him.

I believe no one can truly change, and change permanently, unless God reveals to them their sins, and they are truly repentant.

My children and I have prayed fervently, many of you have said that they have seen personally how the Lord has touched a person they loved, and the person leaves walking in the darkness, to walking in God's light.

Does anyone here have personal testimony to share about a person they prayed for, and God's drawing near the person being prayed about? Has that person become repenant? Changed? Are they saved now? A new person in Christ?

This would give me alot of encouragement, as I am growing weary praying and standing up for my husband, and reubking Satan and the rulers of darkness from his life.

Hi NCMOM,
I commend you for your patience and hope in God, as you have faithfully prayed for your Husband! Don't give up!!!!
In answer to your question, YES I have seen God bring many people I love and have prayed for to repentance and new life in Christ!
I will briefly tell you about two. One is my friends Mother. I became friends with her, and prayed for her. She was Baptist, and yet didn't personally know Jesus. (Years went by...) One day I called her on the phone, she sounded like she was crying. She was very depressed and sad. I asked what was wrong? She said some things, then ended with;
"I don't know why God just doesn't take me now!"
(She wanted to die.)
Then she added; "If he did, maybe I would come back as a Dog...
Oh, but someone would probably just kick me down the steps..."
Then she said; "Or maybe I'd come back as a...." Suddenly I interupted her. "Mrs._____, do you believe in Reincarnation?"
She said "Yes. Isn't that what happens to us when we die?"
I said "No. Don't you believe in the Resurrection of Christ?"
She said "Yes." I said, "Well, it's Reincarnation or the Resurrection! It's one or the other. It cannot be both!" Then I explained the Gospel of Christ to her, and why Jesus came to die on the cross for our sins.
As she lisned, she said, "Now your making me cry!"
I told her no it wasn't me, it was the Holy Spirit. Then I asked if she wanted me to pray with her. She did! She prayed with me, (and I will always remember, while she prayed her voice sounded so peaceful, not shaky from crying!) She confessed to God that she was a sinner, and wanted to turn from sinning and start to follow Jesus! She told me she instantly felt so much peace! After that she started to come to Church with my family! She began to read the Bible and know and love Jesus! Months later, she got baptized with me and my family!
Many months after that she had a stroke and died. I look forward to seeing her again, with Jesus in Heaven!
Her Daughter also was my friend! I witnessed to her for 10 years!
She had a very stubborn heart. Finally after 10 years, the truth of the Gospel became clear to her! Her whole life drastically changed!
She has such a close and loving relationship to Abba Father!
He even healed her from Bi-Polar Depression! She has been off all meds for a little over a year! Her Family and friends are astonished at the new person she has become! (The Lord is able to reach anyone!)
Please don't give up NCMOM! With God ALL things are possible!
I will pray for your Husband too!
God bless you!

The Bible says ... Do not grow weary in well doing. You are doing a great thing by praying for your husbands salvation. Continue on, and believe that he will come to Christ. The Bible says that 'you will be saved and those of your house'. Keep praying....Gods word is true and faithful!! God moves in his time...not ours. He is never too early, and never to late!!!!
Bless you and keep the faith!!!!!!!!

What do you do for a loved one that says that if there is a God then why do or have I struggled all my life?

Contrary to popular belief, Christians do NOT have to struggle. Most struggle because they do not take God at His Word. He (God) said "If my people, who are called by my name (Christians) would turn from their wicked ways, seek my face and humble themselves and pray, I would hear from heaven and heal their land."

If Christians really believe that God is God and that He watches over His word to perform it, they would never struggle. It is written that we are to cast our burdens on Him.

Tufanna,

Welcome to the site, it's wonderful to have you here.

I've learned in the last few years that there are two kinds of people who will ask a question like this. The first are those that want to believe but have intellectual objections they need to overcome. The second are people who do not want to believe and use questions like this as their excuse.

For the first kind of person, there are satisfying, logical, reasonable answers to any question about God or Christianity they might pose. One of the main goals of Delve Into Jesus is to provide those answers, and we've written many articles in the "Discovery" section of the website for this purpose. I hope you find these articles useful for persuading your loved one that God is real and He is good.

For the second kind of person, no argument, fact, or explanation will suffice. They will reject all evidence which does not support their decision to disbelieve. I used to think there was something I could do to change their mind, but I've learned that only God can bring them around. It's not a problem of the mind, it's a problem of the heart, and that is the realm of the Holy Spirit. All we can do is pray.

God bless!

My best friend claims to have accpeted Jesus Christ into her heart but she has only been to a church a few times in the past four or so years and that was only a Catholic church. She doesn't have a desire for the Lord and I see her bearing the fruits of the Spirit, but not for the Lord, for herself and not all of the fruits. I know myself that as a Christian I don't always show the fruits of the Spirit and I don't always desire to follow the Lord but does that mean that she is just not saved or just myself? Also, how should I witness to her and talk about the Bible to her when everytime I do she gets uncomfortable and doesn't like me to? She is very important to me and I would love it if she came to the Lord this 2010 year before she physically dies. What should I do? Any advice or direction to the Word?
