Fight The Fight

In recent weeks I have seen more and more requests for prayers for marriages in need. I am one of those people. I think as prayer warriors we should all take the time everyday to pray that the Lord would heal marriages in need. If we all pray everyday for each other, whether we know each other or not, we will be causing satan to run scared and notto be able to come against our families or marriages. We need the Lord to fill our marriages with love for each other, and to show us what we may need to change about ourselves to make us better christians wives & husbands Please, let's join together to bind satan from marriages and allow the love of God to heal and strengthen our marriages and families. I know that I need to see a miracle in my marriage and I know that there are others of you out there who would like to see the same. Join me everyday in praying for the marriages of christians for healing and restoration. GOD WE NEED A MIRACLE IN THESE MARRAIGES. YOU CAN HEAL AND STRENGTHEN THESE MARRIAGES AND WE KNOW THAT YOU WILL HONOR OUR PRAYERS.
I have come to rely on these verses Psalms 37 4 & 5 and Matthew 21: 22. God is true to his word and His promises are true.
God Help us as we help each other.

You are so right, and God Bless you for bringing this up for discussion!

I see all the prayer requests before the are posted to the site, and so I get a pretty good sense of what is troubling people's hearts. You are right to say that there are more prayer requests for marriages than anything else, and it's not even close. The enemy is very hard at work in this area, and most non-Christians (and perhaps Christians as well) are oblivious to just how much marriages are under attack, and how devastating it is when they begin to fall apart. Nothing will rip apart the will to fight out of a godly Christian man or woman quite like having their spouse abandon them. The Devil is no fool, and he is working overtime to blind our eyes to the dangers of adultery, pornography, overwork, anger and a general tendency to not put families as the second most important thing in our lives after Christ. It's an epidemic.

God has the power to change all this, it's true, but He has already told us what we need to do to save our marriages, but we're not listening to Him anymore as a society. When we take the necessary steps, such as avoiding situations where we are alone with a person of the opposite sex, or strenuously avoiding looking at sexual imagery, the Devil lies to us and tells us we are being old fashioned and prudish. It's a tough battle, and our only hope is to stop listening to the liar and start listening to God. Who cares if others think we are old-fashioned for not going to lunch with that attractive secretary, or thinks we are prudish for not going to the strip club after work with the guys? We need to worry about what our wives and husbands think. We underestimate how easy it is for marriages to dissolve when we worry too much what the world thinks, and we underestimate the damage it does to our fragile souls when they do fall apart.

Marriages are hard work, but they are the most important work we do on this earth next to our work for the Kingdom.

To all who read this, please take these comments in the spirit of humility from someone who is far from perfect and still has a long way to go. I need your prayers for my marriage as much as anyone, but I am thankful to God that He has allowed me to see what needs to be done, even when I am too weak and too much of this world to always do it.

Wow. I was at an intercessory prayer meeting on Wednesday where I was a visitor and this very thing came up as a prayer topic. We were asked to intercede in prayer for church leaders. As their marriages are under attack. At my church, we intercessors pray for our pastor's marriage every Monday morning. That hour of prayer is dedicated to praying for the pastor of our church. His health, prosperity, marriage, etc. We have intercessory prayer every morning at 6 a.m. But Monday morning is specifically for leadership.

I don't believe my pastor has marital problems because he and his wife are truly spiritual people and they pray together for their marriage. And of course, we cover them in prayer.

So, I was suprised to hear that there are pastors whose marriages are under attack. I guess satan has no respect for persons either. He probably wants to destroy a pastor's marriage more than one of ours because it would influence so many people of God. Satan is a terroist.
I hate him.

I pray daily for marriages to be healed and restored. Including my own. No matter how good it is, there's room for improvement.

Yes, needamiracle, I agree that we should all pray for each other's marriages and even those who have not yet posted a request. We ARE all family. And it IS the family's responsibility to pray for each other in every situation. Count me in. I will pray everyday, early morning. This way couples will be covered before they awake. I'm on central time. I'll start praying at 4 a.m. And again at noon, then 8 p.m.

"Early in the morning will I seek your face, O Lord."

Okay. I'm done praying. Now, all to be done is say "Thank You Lord for healing and restoring marriages all over the world." Please help me praise God for healing and restoring our marriages!! Everytime you think of your spouse, say thank You to God. An attitude of gratitude is called for at all times. May the Lord God Almighty continue to rain down blessings in every area of your lives as He reigns in your hearts.

Needamiracle,

Remember Sarah? God's gonna make you laugh, too. Just hold on. Wait for God to work it out for you. He will!!
